Hillary aids Katherine Harris opponent

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., is directing her political action committee, Hilpac, to support her old Yale Law School classmate Jan Schneider in an uphill race for an open congressional seat against Katherine Harris, Florida's former secretary of state who made history with her rulings in the presidential deadlock two years ago.

So far, Hilpac has handed out more than $250,000 to Democratic candidates for the Senate and House, including $5,000 to Schneider, Harris' Democratic opponent, who has raised less than $150,000 at last count.

Harris, meanwhile, has raised $2.6 million and is promoting her new book, "Center of the Storm," for WND Books. The book, released this week to bookstores, climbed immediately to the top of the book charts following Harris' appearances on CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel and dozens of other media outlets.

Harris wrote "Center of the Storm" to answer her critics and tell her friends about the principles she used to weather the stormiest moment of her life – her pivotal role in certifying Florida's vote making George W. Bush president.

To Jan Schneider who can't win Sarasota? That's a dumb Hildabeast investment... like her ill-fated cattle futures!!!

Only $5000. Really small change for an old friend of Hill and Bill.

Wonder if the loving couple will show up to campaign in person for their old friend?

Jan Schneider, a lawyer, author and activist in Democratic operations at the national level

she has Washington experience as a political activist and member of the Clinton transition team

Schneider is glib, blunt and outspoken

On health care, she supports a transition to a universal health care system to ensure coverage for all Americans but immediate relief for needy senior citizens and veterans. She correctly advocates closing the loophole in patent laws that allows drug companies to charge Americans far more for prescriptions than across the border in Canada or Mexico.

She would freeze the Bush administration tax cuts and use the saved revenue to provide prescription coverage and boost education(HOW?), which is one of her top priorities. She pledges to work toward protecting the integrity of the Social Security trust fund. On homeland security, she worries about the compromise of civil liberties through measures taken to prevent terrorism. On the environment, she advocates action to deal with global warming, including offering tax incentives to promote research into more energy-efficient transportation systems and more conservation among Americans in general.

Wonder if the loving couple...

One wonders if they're still "loving." If not, where are each of them "getting it?"

In this Congressional race, Jan Schneider is the only candidate with experience in international relations and politics in our nation's capital, including the United States Congress. Jan is also the only candidate with legal and legislative experience: she is a member of the Bar Associations of Florida, the District of Columbia, and New York, and has also served on numerous and diverse professional and public interest boards.

In 1973 Jan graduated from Yale Law School, in the same class as Bill and Hillary Clinton. In 1975, she received a Ph.D. in political science (international relations) from Yale University Graduate School. Prior to that, Jan graduated Summa Cum Laude from Brown University in three years and earned a Masters and Certificate from the Russian Institute of Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs and a Certificate in International Organizations from the University of Geneva.

Jan has been actively involved in national and international law and politics for more than 25 years. In addition to practicing law, Jan is the author of two books on international environmental law (the second is expected to be released this fall) and of numerous articles on domestic and international environmental and legal issues. She has served on the governing boards of the American Society of International Law, the International Law Association (American Branch), the United Nations Association of the Capital Area, the Council on Ocean Law, the Roshan Institute, and ARMDI, to name a few.

Jan was deeply involved in the 1992 Presidential Campaign. She was responsible for Yale Outreach, "Friends of" Bill and Hillary, and New York and New Jersey Lawyers for Clinton-Gore 1996. Jan also researched for and prepared policy papers for the Clinton/Gore Transition Team. She worked for Terry McAuliffe, now chairman of the Democratic National Committee, and Ann Jordan while the co-chaired the 1997 Presidential Inaugural Committee. In addition to numerous other political activities, Jan was a legal volunteer in Palm Beach during the recount in Election 2000.

Paid political advertisement authorized by Schneider for Congress Campaign. Approved by Jan Schneider (D).

For relaxation, Jan reads and plays tennis. She has also reconstructed a houseboat and enjoys collecting and building fountains

No. The Stain-Man and the Hildabeast. They are living 600 miles away from each other... I think. Their house in Westchester county is not far from where I live. Slick is holed up in Harlem. The Beast has a place in DC. Get it?

Looks like Hillary is keeping her funds for herself even when this is her candidate for eliminating Katherine Harris. Maybe she figures it's a lost cause. I found this financial information on opensecrets.org. the other night:

Amounts Raised
K. Harris-$2,620,000
J. Schneider-$146,566

I liked it a lot!

Schneider doesn't advertise her Democrat affilliation very visibly on a campaign postcard sent to absentee voters.

One needs a magnifying glass to see the (D) after her name!

Maybe she's hoping to fool a few 'Independents'???

Well, how interesting! When you have to search for party affiliation, beware.

BIG-TIME JAN SCHNEIDER PUFF PIECE on the FRONT PAGE of today's (Sunday) edition of the SHT (that's "Sarasota Herald-Tribune").

I'd post it to FR, but I am off to deploy twenty or so "Jeb!" yard signs around the Sarasota country area, between North Port and Osprey.
