The New Jersey Senate election is critical. NJ is a Democrat "machine" state. As you can tell by the recent polls, Lautenburg is already ahead. Amost 50% of voters in NJ favor him over Forrester.
We need to prepare for the worst: The US SC will reject the cases involved or will rule against Forrester.
What matters most is the get out the vote effort. Voter turnout can overcome the Democrat machinery in NJ. You can bet the Dems are going to have a massive get out the vote effort. To counter this, we need to get out the Republican vote.
What needs to be done?
1. Organize a get out the vote effort. There needs to be phone bank activity RIGHT NOW. Someone needs to organize car rides for republicans who have trouble getting to the polls. Invite people to SCHEDULE time during their work day to vote. (Hey, people scheudle time for vacations or Doctor's vists, so encourage them to schedule time for this all important vote which will determine the Senate makeup.)
2. Neighborhood canvassing. Hand out pro-Forrester literature in communities. Go house to house and talk to people about Forrester. Keep tabs on those who seem favorable and call / mail them later.
3. Invite people to vote with you. People are more likely to do something if invited and if it's with a group. Make voting a group event
4. Go under cover. Act as a bum in cities like Newark and wire yourself with a camera (if legal, that is). Try to catch the Dems offering cigaretts for votes, etc.
5. Come to NJ and help out. From NY? Many of us come over for concerts or sporting events, so now come over to help get out the vote. Take election day off and come help the get out the vote effort on election day. (Hey, you take days off for other things, why not for this?).
