BREAKING NEWS: Jennifer Shorts bones Identified in North Carolina

CNN is reporting The skeletal remains in North Carolina has been dna identified as Jennifer Short.

The cops were hearing rumors after the investigation started that Short was not Jennifer's dad. The cops didn't feel free to release the info that he was indeed her dad until they knew the whereabouts of Jennifer, in case it was guy who thought he was her dad who grabbed her. The cops also apologized to the family, which I thought was a kind thing to do, for not being able to put the rumors soundly to rest earlier.

I think I've read that her aunt and uncle had just been declared Jennifer's legal guardians the day before these remains were found. May the Lord be with them and all the other family members!

Not only should there be an automatic death penalty for anyone convicted of murdering a child, the courts should expedite the trial and appeals process such that the time from arrest to execution is measured in months, not years. Furthermore, the clincher, the trial-stopper if you will, should be DNA evidence (and any cops planting such evidence should in fairness also face mandatory death).

Actually, I would prefer something like this: quick trial, wait ten minutes for additional evidence, a quick appeal, then once that is denied, a short walk out from the back of the court house to a table to be sprayed with wasp alarm pheremone, then over to the nearest yellowjacket colony and tie them to a tree. Death should occur in an hour or so from invenomation. Heck, televise it and put it on PPV, and give the proceeds to the victim's survivors.

It appears that this was done over a money dispute. People are going too far over the edge for no reason these days. When they catch him and setence him, if I were on the jury, nothing would justify what he did. I'd have to vote for see ya bye!

Both of her parent were shot in the head. I hope they can figure out why this family was killed.

Don't worry, Virginia is a hang 'em state. Even the dimbulb Dem governor supports the death penalty. This guy is toast.

Sounds to me like the guy may not have known Short had a child living with him. He killed the parents over the money dispute, then found the girl, and took and eventually just killed her so she couldn't ID him for the murder of the parents. Maybe he had some tiny bit of conscience that wouldn't let him kill her on the spot after killing the parents, but after keeping her for a while and knowing about all the APBs out for her, he felt he had no choice but to kill her and dump the body. Then he got the hell out of Dodge.

This perp is one sick sob. I agree, that the abduction seems planned. I just hope that he didn't keep her alive too long. I hope the man resists arrests and tries to escape, while the police have their guns aimed.
