Yes! But let's shoot somebody else.
I just cannot figure out how dumb people could be. Does he really believe they think he is willing to sacrifice himself to "save the Senate?"
To: PMCarey
Yes, absentee ballots have been sent out, including military, not that that matters.

When the Missouri candidate (Carnahan) DIED before the 2000 election, they had to keep his name on the ballot, the dead guy won, and his seat was filled by an appointment of his widow by the gov

So how long will it take to fight it in court? I mean will we know who the candidate will be before then?Well, the RATS will want to get an answer pretty fast, IMHO, since it was their blatant flouting of the final deadline for certification of Florida electors that was a big part of the reason the SCOTUS threw their case out. They thought merely being in court would make all legal deadlines moot; the SCOTUS laughed in their face and said, "No, you've taken too long, the deadline has passed, it's a moot point. Shut up and go home. It's over."
To: Pharmboy
Hehehe. Thanks. Until I saw that picture with Daschle I would haved said he was probably 5'9" or 5'10".

Erskine Bowles is BEHIND 13 points.....do you think HE will withdraw now to 'save the Senate?' You may be on to something. Here's hoping Ron Kirk will take a hint and do a Torch speech tomorrow.

"October came a day early this election year."Yep. An ALMOST October surprise.

Looks like he should resign in a week's time or so
Exactly. in a few days, when the Democrat attorneys have figured all the loopholes are aligned, there will be some pressing reason why he has decided for the good of the country that he will step down from his Senate seat. What a bunch of creeps!
To: Howlin
OMG...Bill Clinton would be bored enough to do it...OMG...just shoot me now!

Fox saying that Bill Clinton has until next Monday to set up residency in NJ and run. Omigod!!!NONONONONONONONONOOOOOOO!!!!
To: RobFromGa
I think you are right Torricelli has just forfeited the seat to the GOP.
To: Dianna
I'm not sure!
To: Torie
bingo... it's clinton.
To: hchutch
These are the "bait and switch" Democrats.Forrester just said he's gonna fight their tactic of tag-team candidates.
To: LisaFab
The dems have no chance unless he resigns. Or unless the NJ SC ignores the statute.

One Word:
Arkancide.

I'm tuning in to local talk radio as I type to see how this is flying in Portland. I suggest Freepers all over do this and report back to this thread. That would TRUELY be a fast 'pulse of the country' Freeper report.

Governor not naming a candidate; the Dems will ask the courts to allow them to replace Torch. Never trust a cornered democRAT. Judge Napolitano (on Fox) said there's a possibility McGreesy would install someone to replace the Torch for a year but I think that scenario would only have applied if the Tortellini resigned today. Also how does one go about finding as fine a candidate as The Torch believes he is.
I shudder that Lautenberg is considering a return. He's popular, very wealthy and just might win against Forrester as might Bill Bradley. Egads, now there's talk that even X42 could set up residence in NJ and put his name on the ballot as long as it's done before Monday. Once again an election hinges on the decision of judges.
To: Robert_Paulson2
That's carpetbagging to the nth power. Repeal the 17th amendment.

Did you see what I just said? Fox saying Clinton could register by Monday and run, if he set up a residency.
