THIS JUST IN:
NJ Senator Robert Torricelli was hospitalized today in Trenton when he broke BOTH ARMS while patting himself on the back during a retirement speech of which his friend, Fidel Castro, would be proud, for being one of the greatest men of all time.
Jeeezzzzz!
He's a crook and a bum (like his OTHER buddy, Willie klintoon).
We can only hope he does a better job of going away than klintoon has.

US GOP Spokesman: "This is a cynical attempt to manipulate democracy."
To: dead
They are just going to illegally try to shoehorn some other Dem jackass onto the ballot. So this means every time a GOPer is losing, he can quit and let someone else run instead?
I don't think so...
To: SauronOfMordor
If Torch withdraws his name, it means that the [Republican] wins by default. No state law can hold power over federal election procedings. You preach it, FReeper!
To: Howlin
Did I hear Torch say he is filing an action with SCOTUS to take him off the ballot? That is very, very odd. I doubt that 5 of them will find time to fit his emergency (and probably meritless, but I don't claim to know everything) petition into their busy schedule.

I'm confused. If Torch was so great as he and others are saying, why is he quitting?
To: Libertina
This low move to save a seat is below what I could imagine and disgusting display by Torch
To: Diddle E. Squat; Jim Robinson
If they play that, we've got them across the country:
"The Democrats cancelled an election to preserve their political power."
How ANYONE could do anything to keep this mafia in power (stay home, vote third-party) is beyond me.
To: SauronOfMordor
Yep, that's what it sounds like! And that's why they are filing with the supreme court to try to muscle some other name onto the ballot.
They're so transparent, can't be expected to play by the rules, they remind me of my brother, when we were kids and he would dump the checker board if he was losing. Torricelli is quitting only because he can't win, and they are changing the rules again, hoping for some liberal court decision in their favor, contrary to the law, just like they did in the presidential election. Unbelievable!
To: SauronOfMordor
The DNC is hoping to create a muddy legal mess and try to bring back the bad memories of Florida 2000, while blaming the GOP, of course. They are losing nationally, and thus dividing and inflaming are their best options left. Fire up the base, force the GOP into a mudfight, and hopefully disgust the middle/swing voters and reducing their turnout.

Sen. Grassley just on was NOT helpful...way too kind to Torricelli and the Dems...
To: Chancellor Palpatine
ping for later
To: Angelwood
He just confirmed that Clinton had a hand in this. He will not be responsible for the loss of the U.S. Senate for the democrats...How nice of Torrecelli to spell it out for everyone
To: Torie
New candidate picked in the next 48 hours or so.
To: Deport Billary
He speaks of building credibility -- as if allowing 100,000 babies to be aborted gives him the right to take bribes. What a jerk. What a creepy party.
If you fund 6 women's shelters can you sell secrets to China? How much graft can a democrat get for 150,000 dead babies and 7 women's shelters. How do their sick twisted minds work? Who knows?
Criminals.
Do democrat get to steal if they believe in affirmative action? How much graft is affirmative action worth? A million? Two? What pigs, pigs, criminal pigs.
No one builds credibility by taking bribes and selling out. What a jerk.
