NC Free Republic Chapter Meeting Scheduled OCT 1st
http://users.max.inter.net/~oldnorthstatefr/ ^ | Sept. 27,2002 | mykdsmom and Constitution Day

Posted on 09/27/2002 3:03:25 PM PDT by mykdsmom

Ok, all of the NC FReepers, Lurkers, NC FReeper wanna be's listen up. We have set a meeting place and time for regular monthly meetings. Our next meeting is next Tuesday October 1st. I hope we can get a large group of us together so we can accomplish some great things in our state. God knows there is a LOT to be accomplished.

I spoke to the owner of Tir na nÓg and he is a staunch conservative and is happy to let us use his meeting room for free. The room will be on your right as you come through the front door, it's near the bar : ). Of course he'd like for us to buy food and drinks, he is running a business after all.

I can't vouch for their food but they have a GREAT beer selection. Personally I plan on eating my dinner during the meeting to give him the business.

You will find a sample menu and directions by clicking on the link to their web site below. Please give me some response on this thread if you plan on coming or not. In fact, even if you can't make it do us a favor and bump it up.

I'd also like to introduce all of you to our new, NC website, thanks to the hard work of callisto.

I'd really like to see some enthusiasm from the NC FReepers. Let's not be couch potato FReepers, get involved in your state politics. We have a LOT of work to do and it can't all be done sitting at a computer keyboard. Oh and we'll have a lot of fun too.

Any suggestions for discussions or projects for meetings will be appreciated too. Tell Constitution Day and I what YOU want to achieve from YOUR local chapter.

The place:
Tir na nÓg Irish Pub
218 S. Blount St., Raleigh.
(919) 833-7795 http://www.tnnpub.com

The date & time:
First Tuesday of every month, 7:00 PM.

Next two meetings:
October 1, November 5 (**Election night**).

Hopefully they have cable or a satellite hooked up to the TV so we can watch the election returns in Nov.

But do they have phone lines for everybody's laptop so we can Freep? :)

Well----I'm working on Elkizabeth Dole's campaign every night from 5 to 9, organizing the Republican Booth at the State Fair (which will be October 18-27) and will be out there every day, plus working at the polls on election day and then to the victory celebration (I hope) after the polls close, so I'll have to miss the first two meetings, it appears. Looks like December will be the first one I'll be able to attend. In the meantime, I'll be trying to think of some interesting topics and projects we can talk about and work on.

I agree that we should do more than sit in front of our monitors and pound on the keyboard.

You guys, I'm looking for volunteers to work at the Republican Booth at the State Fair. Any willing bodies out there?

Hey MKM.

I don't know what's up.
Was it something we said last time? :)

Maybe it's the fact that it's a weeknight.

Anyway, I am trying to get some end-of-month stuff done here @ work, and have a 10 am meeting, but will bump this periodically.
