NC Free Republic Chapter Meeting Scheduled OCT 1st

Ok, all of the NC FReepers, Lurkers, NC FReeper wanna be's listen up. We have set a meeting place and time for regular monthly meetings. Our next meeting is next Tuesday October 1st. I hope we can get a large group of us together so we can accomplish some great things in our state. God knows there is a LOT to be accomplished.

I spoke to the owner of Tir na nÓg and he is a staunch conservative and is happy to let us use his meeting room for free. The room will be on your right as you come through the front door, it's near the bar : ). Of course he'd like for us to buy food and drinks, he is running a business after all.

I can't vouch for their food but they have a GREAT beer selection. Personally I plan on eating my dinner during the meeting to give him the business.

You will find a sample menu and directions by clicking on the link to their web site below. Please give me some response on this thread if you plan on coming or not. In fact, even if you can't make it do us a favor and bump it up.

I'd also like to introduce all of you to our new, NC website, thanks to the hard work of callisto.

I'd really like to see some enthusiasm from the NC FReepers. Let's not be couch potato FReepers, get involved in your state politics. We have a LOT of work to do and it can't all be done sitting at a computer keyboard. Oh and we'll have a lot of fun too.

Any suggestions for discussions or projects for meetings will be appreciated too. Tell Constitution Day and I what YOU want to achieve from YOUR local chapter.

Don't think I can make the Oct. 1st meeting, but will definitely make it Nov. 5th to celebrate winning back the Senate!!!

If the numbers start looking too bad, I'll have to go home early 'cause I'll be sick sick sick which is what happened when they called Florida for Gore... my husband had to take me home.

A Good Morning BUMP for the Old North State Freepers.

Thank you, mkm. Lot's of typing though...I decided to do it the hard way and code it by hand, but it's one of those things I love to do.

I feel we need more libertarian and constitution party links to add more balance. Back when you lost your harddrive, we ironically had one of our harddrives go bad, and our backup had fun when we were partitioning it and lost ALL of my data and a few thousand links, so I've been desperate to regather them. That's one of the reasons I would really love for any other links I can add to the site. I really want it to be representative of all Chapter members.

CD has an hour drive home so I imagine he'll want to leave by 9 pm or so.

I really, really want to be involved with the chapter, but I live in Lexington. The drive to Raleigh is no less than 2 hours 15 minutes. The drive up doesn't sound too bad, but then I have to drive back. ; * )

I'm hoping that I can arrange something so that I could make the Nov. meeting, but I just don't see making that drive every month. Has anyone ever considered doing 'live' meetings online. Like with AIM or something?

I don't know when they close, it doesn't say on their web site.

One cool thing I found by looking at the private party link though is that the room we will be using has a sound system with a TV and VCR. Hopefully they have cable or a satellite hooked up to the TV so we can watch the election returns in Nov.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to drive that far, I wouldn't be able to do it either.

We haven't discussed internet meetings before but that is something that we can talk about.
