[history]
Something amazing happened yesterday. I attended a rally of a bunch of political activists backing an unpopular candidate who is rapidly sinking in the polls -- and they weren't Republicans.
The rally was held yesterday afternoon by union activists who are supporting Bob Torricelli, the Democrat who is the senior senator from New Jersey. It featured U.S. Senate majority leader Tom Daschle. It followed a far more successful rally earlier in the day featuring the President of the United States.

This from the Star Ledger? Maybe I'm not going to wake up and find out the prospect of a Rebuplican Senator from New Jersey is not just a pleasant dream.

The speakers, who included Gov. James E. McGreevey and U.S. Sen. Jon Corzine, got right to the point. Never mind Torricelli's ethical lapses, control of the U.S. Senate is at stake. Just one seat could make the difference. What statesmanship.

A Public Service Announcement: Good People of New Jersey, do your state and your fellow Countrymen the favor of not voting for Bob Torricelli; you don't and We The People don't deserve another shady Democrat in office.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
The American People.

I commend McGreevey and Corzine for their honesty. They would ask us to vote for a pile of sh!t in this U.S. Senate race as long as this pile of sh!t called itself a Democrat.

Isn't that what they are doing?

Good point. I think I was confused by those expensive suits Torricelli is always wearing.

You know what they say: "You can't polish a turd."

They would ask us to vote for a pile of sh!t in this U.S. Senate race as long as this pile of sh!t called itself a Democrat. Maybe we should change the phrase "Yellow dog DemocRAT" to "POS DemocRAT"?

I have rarely even thought about the state of New Jersey. That said, I will lump it *forever* with California and New York as being useless, cancerous lumps on America if they send that criminal scumbag back to Congress.

Paul Mulshine is a GREAT editorialist. He pulls no punches and hits the idiots in whatever party they appear.
He dragged Chrissie Whitman over the coals on numerous occasions, like when she allowed the PETA nuts to block a state black bear hunt.
Schundler's Loss was a shame to the Jersey Republicans, a combination of wealthy RINOs and mainstream conservative Republicans. The conservatives always supported RINOs in the past, and the RINOs always stayed home when the conservatives won a nomination and allowed the Dems a victory.
It appears that Forrester has succeeded in alientating neither group in his base. His performance in Washington will determine what kind of Republican he really is. But he can only be an improvement over that disgrace Torricelli.
If the guy who contributed illegal campaign money is in jail. how come the guy who RECEIVED it is out walking around? Amazing country. Even more amazing state.
