No, you did not look like a monster. You ARE monster.
Spend your life stealing and staying in no place long enough to set roots and then beat your child for emulating it. Brilliant thesis.
I was reading this and thinking the same thing.. Personally I used a fly swatter..
I'm not making excuses for this woman but this tape does is not very good evidence. It leaves too much to the imagination. I didn't see anything that looked like hair pulling or punching. A few too many slaps maybe. If they would have been punches this little girl would have had some severe damage.
This is the same group of people who are so upset about security cameras who are ready to take this little girl away from her mom. Maybe she needs some anger management therapy or something but I have to see and hear a lot more before I would call for taking the child away. I don't think this is a very good video to come to those conclusions unless you have a very active imagination.
But then again, I came from a generation where if you swore or sassed ( as they called it) to your mom you wore her hand print on the side of your face for the next couple hours in the form of a welt.. But you never did it again.
If you have not seen the part where the woman puts the child in a car seat, then drwas back her fist and hits the child repeatedly, you have not seen the entire tape. I don't know why the media doesn't show that every time, but I know for a fact they don't.
Why not???
Actually, the anti-security camera crowd are the ones who are defending the mother. They seem to think that the only outrageous thing about that video is that a department store has a security camera.
The woman admitted to hitting the child and pulling the child's hair. You may not have seen the segment of the tape where the woman closes her fist and proceeds to throw her closed fist about four times in the vicinity of the child's head. For some reason, that section is usually not shown. They have been ending the video right before that section for the past couple of days.
Now, if the woman admits that she hit the child and pulled the child's hair and if the video shows her throwing her fist in the vicinity of the child's head, what are the odds that she was doing anything but punching the child?
The sister-in-law said that the woman was only adjusting the car seat. That was before the mother confessed. The mother, by the way, said, "I looked like a monster."
I am the first one to correct someone who claims that any form of corporal punishment constitutes beating a child. There is definitely a difference between a spanking and a beating. This child received a beating.
This prompts two thoughts:
(1) The little girl has already been taught how to shoplift -- "Taking toys out of packages and wandering away"... and
(2) the mom was probably trying to remove tags so she could claim a cash refund on merchandise without a receipt, and that's why she ignored the girl while in the store.
Actually she seems to be an Irish Hitter.
BS!!!! This was not an act of a first-timer. There's a history of this stuff in her, I guarantee it.
We know that only the video was really necessary to become Osama bin Whorealdo and start the stoning. Long before the confessions there were dozens of FReepers who knew she was beaten to a pulp her neck was broken and her internal injuries would undoubtedly be fatal. It's so unfortunate that several days passed and she recovered. Osama bin Whorealdo oughta punch out that lyin' prosecutor for saying "she looks fine". What kind of prosecutor confesses something like that?
Can you cut and paste one single post that defends the mother or her actions? I think you're a liar. Show us where anyone has defended her. Or shut up!
And then there is this which does validate what was said in that post.
