From a speech by Solicitor General Theodore Olson to the Federalist Society on Nov. 16, 2001. Mr. Olson's wife, Barbara, was one of the airplane passengers murdered on Sept. 11, 2001.

September 11, 2001 was unprecedented in our nation's history. Our country has been attacked before. Our soldiers and innocent citizens have been the victims of terrorism before. But never before in our history have so many civilian citizens, engaged in the routines of their daily lives, who neither individually nor collectively had done anything to provoke the savage attack that they were to experience that day, been brutally murdered for the simple reason that they were Americans, and because they stood, in their countless individual lives, for all the things that America symbolizes.

Thanks, Ohio. I sure miss seeing Barbara's big smile and listening to her common sense analysis of issues. She was one in a million.

You're welcome, ohioWfan. Thank you for pinging your list. Ted should address the Senate, give this speech...no napping or absenteeism allowed. (^;

So it is a particularly sad and a bitter irony that the 19 savages who took the lives of thousands of Americans were able to come here because we welcomed them, and trusted them, and allowed them to learn to fly our airplanes and gave them the freedom to travel. They took these precious gifts and turned them into instruments of hatred and death.

Isn't this too true?

Thanks for the ping, OWF.

We will prevail for the very reason that we have been attacked. Because we are Americans.

Thanks for the pings.

What a remarkable man Ted Olson is ..... and how fortunate we are to have him in this administration.

May God bless him!

He sure pumps up the "Illusion" of the America we wish for.

But he left out that our Freedoms have become illusions , that America's Churches have become the State churches that early American's were trying to escape.

And that these American's happened to be in the buildings that represent the internationalists who are after global monopolies , regardless of human costs.

Which to me makes the American's who died in the Towers , victims of the same internationalists.

You won't hear this on the news , but you will here them defending the internationalists , saying it had nothing to do with their foreign policy.

I sure miss seeing Barbara's big smile and listening to her common sense analysis of issues.

Learning of her death was the first thing to 'put a face' on the attacks of 9/11. I couldn't help but feel that I knew her, in spite of the fact that I had only seen her on TV. And Ted's strong, loving grief was overwhelming.

We are indeed fortunate to have men (and women) of his caliber in this incredible administration.

Thanks for the reminder, Elkiejg. The respondees have no patience for the terrorists, and would join SG Olson in the front lines of this war. Let's roll, indeed.

I had such a conversation with a lady last week.

She emigrated from Germany in the 50's. It was 9-11-02 and she couldn't stop crying. She told me she is living the American dream, God bless her.

Give it a rest.

My nephew is from Russia. He is only 12, but I'm sure that he can tell you what the differences are between where he came from and America.

And sadly enough I fear, by the time he's 52 he won't be able to tell the difference. We have freedoms now, yes, much more than the former Soviet Union. But the way the majority of the public in their respective states is willing to hand over power all in the name of safety, there's not in the way of freedom the next generation will have

You're absolutely right.
It was Standard Oil that made the terrorist fly into the WTC.

bigotry \Big"ot*ry\, n. [Cf. F. bigoterie.] 1. The state of mind of a bigot; obstinate and unreasoning attachment of one's own belief and opinions, with narrow-minded intolerance of beliefs opposed to them.

bigotry \Big"ot*ry\, n. [Cf. F. bigoterie.] 1. The state of mind of a bigot; obstinate and reasoned attachment of one's own belief and opinions, with little tolerance of beliefs opposed to them. With a little editing, you've got me nailed.

It's people like You who keep saying America is better than other countries and keep accepting less and less that help the politicians succeed.

Why don't you talk to some older Russians or Germans or other Europeans , to find out why they can't own any property. Or leave an inheritance.

It's happening here and You accept it.

Thank You for keeping our country strong.

More like the internationalists who made Rockefeller , America's oil baron.

But You wouldn't know anything about that , because conspiracies don't really exist.

It's funny conspiracies exist in the Bible , but not in your world.

Thanks for the heads-up, RC.

The victims were of all races, backgrounds, religions, ages and qualities. They had one thing in common. They were nearly all Americans. Their lives were extinguished because they were the embodiment of the aspirations of most of the world's peoples. The people who killed them hate the beacon that America holds out to people who are impoverished, enslaved, persecuted and subjugated everywhere in the world.

A magnificent speech worthy of the Gipper. I can give it no higher praise.
