Thanks. Can't wait to see the pictures from the destruction of the Iraqi government.....

Amazing shots. I could spend hours commenting on each. I'll just let them speak for themselves. Many thanks, as always. Never forget....

In Kandahar, the Blue Mosque, which the Taliban painted blue is returned to its pre-Taliban red. Color-Regime Change?

You gotta love them AT-4s and the SAWs too.

What a beautiful contrast the color makes with this stark landscape of Afghanistan.
Thanks as usual for a great job.

Thanks for the excellent photos as always, Dio (and the ping as well)! Those Pak troops carry AUGs?? Good to see someone shooting those AT-4s instead of just packing them around. Nice ending to this post - Let's Roll!

Great photos, di, thanks for posting them.

In Kandahar, at the clinic. The sign reads: 'Women's entrance'. When Saddam does the full Mussolini from a Baghdad lamppost, can we pose him in a burqa for posterity?

Fantastic!!!!!! ..... as usual.
Thank you for doing this. I know it takes a lot of time to post all the pics but it is greatly appreciated by many. There are so many things we learn from these threads that we'll never see in the media!

Why isn't that dervish whirling?

Since a picture speaks a thousand words, you, sir, have spoken volumes with this post. Remarkable images, thank you.

Wonderful shots. Thank you so much for your efforts to bring so many fabulous and informative shots to us.
I especially loved the painting of the mosque! Terrific. But am sorry about the Burkas....hope the women, themselves, want to wear them out of a certain comfort and tradition, not because the UN or current government are forcing them to do so.

at least 110 Pakistani Taliban prisoners released to Pakistan today My understanding is that if they are truly Pakistani, they are not likely to be Tallibunnies, but rather Al Qaida. Talliban were/are almost all Afghans of various tribes, mostly southern ones, from near the Pak border.

Thanks again for a cool photo essay! The one SF guy in the white cap- he's loaded up for serious fun- I counted at least four ammo pouches, at least 390 rounds of 5.56 plus whatever pistol ammo and grenades he's carrying. A standard combat load for a normal infantryman (sans extra pouches) is 210 rounds.
