We all share the same earth and the same environment. We believe that everyone's voice should be heard in debating the policies and making the decisions that affect us all. The earth belongs to all of us.
This first in the world, Online Global Poll is being conducted in conjunction with the United Nations World Summit on Sustainable Development being held in Johannesburg South Africa from August 25 to September 4, 2002.
Your participation in this global poll adds voice to the many thousands worldwide expressing how they feel about the environment, and what they feel their leaders should do to protect their environment. The results of this poll will be shared with worldwide leaders, political and corporate leaders who are gathering in Johannesburg with the intent of developing global programs to improve the environment.

Great post. I gave a fun filled poll response. Check this out ladies and gents, we need to hit this hard

THe poll is very poorly designed and limits your choices to what the pollster want. Example:
17. Do you believe that free trade and protection of the global environment are:
- In conflict with each other
- Mutually supportive
- Sometimes at odds; sometimes mutually supportive
They left out: - not dependent on one another

Somewhat left-slanted. I looked in vain for multiple-choice answers like "Decision making by government and NGOs causes inefficient use of resources". However, it's not the
flaming push-poll one might expect; so it's worth filling out.
There were some questions of the "Are-you-happy-with-the-status-quo?" type that would be answered the same way by people at opposite ends of the spectrum. This suggests that the questions either weren't prepared by a professional pollster or (more likely) the people commissioning the poll will wait to see what the majority thinks and then decide what the question really meant.

What kind of on-line poll is this where we have to wait 3 weeks and results will be e-mailed if we register? These people aren't up-to-date with technology, but then, they are greenies.

not dependent on one another Actually, I disagree with you on this.
If you look at the environmental conditions in free market (capitalist) countries, it is much cleaner than in those that have a command economy (socialist).
Capitalism (free trade) leads to much greater efficiency in allocation and use of resources, including environmental conditions.

The poll leaned so far left I nearly fell out of my chair. I sent it. They will not like by non-green aswers. The African meeting is yet another effort by Greens to take over the earth. Are we sending a rep? Hope not!

It is not possible to get the right message across in this poll, there is no good answer for most of the questions.
