IMHO, he's doing great, but there is just something weird about hearing John Madden other than on a Sunday afternoon. Strange, gonna take awhile to get used to. Am I the only one who feels that way?
But it sure beats the last few years on MNF. No annotated babbling idiot tonight.
Gonna miss Pat Summerall on Sundays, though.
Nice halftime tribute to Terrell Davis, brought back great memories of watching Denver FINALLY win the big one after all those disappointments. One of the best Superbowls ever.

John's doing great. But they've got to lose the other goofball. John makes a comment about the glowing orange sunset and whether it's natural or due to fires in the west, and the other guy says it's a filter on the camera. What a boob.

I have to tell you that John Madden's voice is the most irritating in the business, and that I turn off the volume when he is the television commentator. He goes off on rants and tangents so much that the viewer can't remember what the heck they're watching. Madden is a total and complete turnoff. He may know a hell of a lot about football, but down deep he's still a yelling, loudmouth coach.

NOT AT ALL. It was a shame Dan Fouts had to go, though.
Madden's doing a good job.

More irritating than Howard Cosell's was?

I quit watching all sports events a number of years ago.

They got rid of Miller before someone sued him over his mouth!

I totally agree with you about Madden. He frequently did the Niners games, so I would turn off the sound and listen to the radio commentator instead! He drives me nuts, but anything is better than Dennis Miller! Was that stupid or what?

Al Michaels should be the only one in the booth with Al Michaels.
He's become insufferable, even though he gets good anti-Clinton jabs in.
Mike Patrick is a pro, he understands he's got to just get out of the way of the color guys.

Ah, but you underestimate Larry?! Klayman.

Ha! I was going to drop that name in the post, but I removed those keys in order to remove the temptation!
I sure hope that Karen Carpenter isn't going to be doing long interviews during plays once the regular season starts.
BTW, should Terrell Davis be in the Hall of Fame?

More irritating than Paul McGuire or Dan Dierdorf?
To: Let's Roll
or Joe Theisman?
To: Let's Roll
Oh gads we all can't stand Paul McGuire!! He is the pits!

I strongly suspect that Dennis Miller had to be tootin' and tokin' before the MNF broadcasts after hearing some of the off-the-wall crap coming out of his mouth. Al Michaels told him to shut up during a game last year and spent much of the season ignoring Miller's relapses of potty talk.
