Dear Freepers:
I just returned from the First Annual Free Republic Network Convention in Las Vegas.
The Free Republic Network Cruise last October was the most fun I've ever had in my whole life. The Free Republic Network Conference I just attended was the most informative and inspiring two days I've ever had in my whole life.
The Free Republic Network is stretching its muscle, not by talk, but by action. The Free Republic forum is liberty's college. The Free Republic Network is liberty's workplace.
If you attended, please use this thread to post your observations, comments and highlights of the conference. I will give mine below. But before I do, I'd like to take this time to thank Bob Johnson and the FRN board for putting on this conference. It's hard for me to find the words to adequately describe how great this experience was--and how much I learned.

Great report!I had a fantastic time, even stuck in the corner as I was mostly... ;^) Bob J's speech was terrifically inspiring and motivating, pragmatic and fresh in its vision. And I thought that Chuck Muth was absolutely terrific.
The FReepers that attended shared several traits, but most importantly were their commitment to persevere and the nobility of their causes.
God bless 'em all. And you as well.

No pictures?? Well ... we just haven't had time to develop them yet. But ... we took some awesome pictures and I'm sure we have a picture posting party very soon.

Glad to hear it was a success. Thanks for posting.

I truly enjoyed eating lunch with you! There was not enough time to spend with everyone at the conference. I plan on attending the next one and Mr. Rollins will join me. Looking forward to the next time, until then, God bless you and yours, FRiend!

"Your conference reports are so filled with excitement and "after-glow"; it's been a pleasure to read them"
Thanks, but ... actually it was easy to say those things. I can't remember when I've such a great time and met so many really nice people.

Looking forward to the next time, until then, God bless you and yours, FRiend!
Ditto. And ditto. Hopefully I'll "see" you around the forum!

Anna , I know me too, I was so disappointed and still am. shoot !
I wanted to meet you so much.
FallGuy and I were sitting right up in front on the dare I say it Left side of the podium. Laura was such a good speaker.
Hi Anna! The next time I am going to make a list and take it with me and be on a mission to meet everyone on my little list and not be shy like I was this time. hahaha
This was my very first Freeper event, other then my one freep during the Presidential election. So I was pretty shy and nervous. The Shrew helped me a lot when he introduced me to a few people but he had a lot to do too. He was so dear and so kind.
And I got to meet Jim Robinson and thank him , that meant a lot to me to do that in person. I was so nervous Anna, to meet him and thank him.
I got to meet oh let's see, Peacerose, Initeresting Times, DoughtyOne and his beautiful wife, A Navy Vet, One Particular Harbour, dixie sass, WIMom, Skeet, and several others.
I keep relieving that one evening I had , it meant so much to me and was such an honor to meet other freepers.

I had a great time feasting on the In-And-Out burgers with you, Fall Guy and The Shrew -- you two definitely have a new fan on the East Coast. It's just a shame we couldn't get you and the piano together on Saturday night...
Tell Fall Guy I said hi, and thanks for all your fine work on the Canteen.

Wow! AnnaZ is so great!
Thanks for posting the link.

Early today, after I beat the craps table (YEAH), we all met and had a lively discussion. I hear you got an early wake-up call!
How providential (and profitable).
Do tell (perhaps at Chicagoland Chapter Picnic).
FRiva BUMP!
It was truly a wonderful and meaningful event.
More later ... I had a bad travel day and need time to regroup.
To: Barnacle; RedWing9
I really wish I could have been there. Get a first-hand account at the Chicagoland Chapter picnic. Hope to see you there!
