Strangely enough, even the liberal Washington Post gave a conservative figure for the http://www.MillionsForReparations.com rally today. I wonder if the Left will now accuse conservatives of having instigated this entire event just to try and help discredit the very intellectual foundation upon which racial quotas, government contract set-asides, and shakedown-related jury verdicts (or settlement offers) for allegedly improper disriminatory conduct are based?

Dear U.S. Supreme Court:
Please go ahead and grant certiorari to the race-based admissions matter involving Michigan Law School, and Do the Right Thing.

The reparations folk did NOT say that "Compensation is long overdue for the ills that institution (slavery)" - they said "show me the money or I'll show you the Glock", called white people the enemy and crackers, themselves Africans rather than Americans, threatened a raid on the Treasury, and various and sundry other outrageous and sometimes foul-mouthed antics. The WP may have gotten the crowd size correct, did they cover the content honestly?

You're absolutely right about that!

As one of the,"white devils", I say f- em. These people only wish to devide America even more. As a southern red neck I believe if I were forced to pay for this stupid scheme I'd lead the revolution.

As much as it pains me to admit this, Alan Colmes made a fantastic point the other night on the subject of reparations. He says, and I agree, that one of the corner stones of our society and judicial system is that we do not put the sins of the father onto the sons. He is completely right on this point. Thankfully, even with all the press reparation supporters receive, support for their cause is very low.

Will the NAACP ever a elect a white NAACP president? No?! They discriminate! :)

... and I am SURE those demanding reparations will likewise BE WILLING TO PAY COMPENSATION to all the WHITE families today whose ancestors DIED so that they could enjoy the freedom to demand reparations today.
I'll wait...

You said it right when you noted how the Washington Post failed to mention all of the colorful rantings by these lunatics.
Just another way the Big Media 'RATS continue to misinform the public, especially at the expense of the truth.

I've recently read that the NAACP's tax exempt status could be in jeopardy because they're so partisan...

Irony: If these pro-Reparations blacks are so oppressed, then why was every other chant repeatedly exclaimed at the rally "Black Power!" Not self-contradictory or anything...

I loved the part where one speaker was trying to get everyone to move into one place on the lawn so that it looked like the place was packed. I didn't watch much after that, but it didn't appear as if the crowd cooperated to much extent.
There appeared to be a few hundred there. Maybe even a thousand, but I think it was less than that.
Millions For Reparations? Not based on that turnout.

Excellent point.

Too bad they weren't as honest in reporting the REAL numbers of the "Million" Mom March a couple of years ago. Notice that NO helicopter shot photos were shown of that rally. Only a small section of the Mall had MMM participants.

As another FReeper put it last week (paraphased) - "Reparations would punish those who never owned slaves to reward those who never were slaves."

Here's a crowd shot from today:
