A Few of FR's Finest..... ......Every Day
FR is a Treasure Trove of talented, compassionate, patriotic, wonderful people who gather every day to discuss the latest news and issues; salute and support our military and our leaders; tell a few jokes; learn a new word; write poetry; pray for those in need; and congratulate those who are deserving. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for giving us the vehicle in which we can express ourselves.
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. I can remember lurking when there were only a few regulars who posted, and now there are over 60,000 who have registered for posting privileges. The forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.

A Few of FR's Finest November 11, 2001
So many people have written me since my original Veteran's Day Tribute, asking how they, or a loved one, could be included in that tribute. Since I can no longer add the photos to the body of the thread, I've been including them in additional posts as I received enough to make another collage.
Still that doesn't seem to be enough. I think there's never been a better nor more appropriate time to keep the faces of our own Veterans and Active Military in front of FReepers--every day! That's why I wanted to do yet another Daily Thread .....ABOUT FReepers .....and FOR FReepers. But not only about our Military FReepers; for all FReepers! Wouldn't it be nice to get to know a few of the other FReepers as well? That's why, in addition to seeing FR's Finest Military Personnel every day, I thought it might be fun to feature a different FReeper (or FReepers) each day. If you would like to be pictured, or know someone who would, please FReepmail me and we'll turn the spotlight - on YOU - for the day!
And do let me know if you'd like your picture added to the groups of Veterans/Active Military below. I will keep this page updated, and continue to add them to the comment section of the original Veteran's Day thread as well.

GREAT! They are doing such a super job, aren't they?! I'm so impressed with the professionalism and intelligence of our FReepers. :)
To: Libertina
Thanks Libertina, I am listening now. Wish I knew who was speaking. He is very interesting, but it is driving me crazy that I don't know who he is. LOL!
Click HERE for the thread with the live audio broadcast.

Hi Mama, I was on the planning committee for this event so I can help a little. The previous speaker was Chuck Moot who is the Executive Director of the American Conservative Union. The current speaker is the man who operates Mullings. com., ex- Ex Dir of GOPAC, I believe he is Tim Zeigler.
To: Libertina
Sorry Mama, spelling correction of Chuck's name, make that Muth! LOL

Hi all . We are finally home. Great! Glad you are back with us. I enjoyed reading your posts about the trials and tribulations of being computer deprived. You are funny, and I identified so well with your problems of sneaking away to get on line. I've been there too. I've seen the concerned "looks" from family and friends when they realize that I have some kind of computer addiction. LOL!!!
.........

Nite, Lodwick. Manana :) Sleep tight.

Thanks for the information on the speakers. You're not there, are you? I am curious as to how many FReepers are at the FRiva Conference. We would have gone, but my husband had appointments today that he couldn't reschedule.
To: lodwick
Good night, lodwick. See you tomorrow.
To: ladyinred
We had ice chests ready, and when they rolled in at noon, I started throwing frozen food into the chests and running around like a maniac! LOL! Yep, been there, done that! LOL!!

Now that is what we need on a sign on Fridays Mama! The Clean house California graphic That's a good idea. I will see if Jeff can make up a couple for us for next FRiday.
To: Mama_Bear
I am , sadly, the only committee member NOT there! (snif snif) :) Anyway, there are approx. 90 attendees. Hopefully, we'll all go tot he next one. As Bob J & Diotima & The FRee Republic Network hold more of these events, I hope we'll get attendance of 100s! 1000 wouldn't be bad either! :) All of the committee members have done such an outstanding job. And just listen to the impressive radio personalitites we have who are the dj's! FR has so much talent.
To: Mama_Bear
I was hoping you would say that! The peaceniks are blaming Bush for California's problems on their signs, so we need to answer them with our own.

Well, I couldn't imagine you being on the planning committee and then not being there. That's too bad that you couldn't go. :-(
I thought there would be many more than 90 people attending. Yes, I hope that in the future more and more people will attend. I would have loved to have gone.
One of the reasons we couldn't go is because Speaker of House Dennis Hastert came to our town this evening to campaign for Devin Nunes (the Republican nominee for Congress in our district). My husband was there to shoot the photographs of the attendees with Nunes and Hastert. It was a job he couldn't get out of, even if he had wanted to, which he didn't. LOL! He was able to talk to the Speaker about FreeRepublic, about the FRiva Conference and about the our rallies with JimRob in Fresno that we attend. Hastert apparently is at least an occasional lurker because he already knew about the FRiva Conference in Las Vegas. He was very enthusiastic about FR and what we all do here and also to find out that we go to the rallies whenever we can. :-)
I am pinging some of the FResno Rally regulars ....... you might be interested to know that Jeff told the Speaker of the House about our Friday night Support our Troops rallies. Hastert thought it was wonderful that we are out on the street corner waving the flag for our military and President Bush. :-)
Jim and Syncro, I know you are in Vegas. Hoping you'll get this ping the next time you log on. I'm sure you are having a great time. Wish we could have been there. I am listening to the live broadcast as I type. I hope people are getting lots of pictures.

Wow! I am impressed! I hope the speaker didn't try to hide from Jk's camera, I hear there are those who do! :)
Seriously, I think it is great that he got the chance to speak to him, I hope he invited him to join us next Friday night! Wouldn't that blow the peaceniks away? LOL!

Yes, it probably would blow them away if they had a clue who he was ...... which I doubt very much. Judging by the signs they hold, I don't think they have a clue about much of anything. LOL.
To: Mama_Bear
I don't think they have a clue about much of anything. LOL. VBG, You are so right, last night one guy had a sign that said,
WAR HIDES REALITY!
As if he would recognize reality if it tapped him on the shoulder! :)
To: JustAmy
Why Just Amy, look at you hiding behind JustFrank!
He looks so innocent, I bet it is you who puts him up to all those things he says! :)
