[history]
By defeating U.S. Rep. Lynn Rivers in a cutthroat Democratic primary that a national magazine called "one of the most fascinating contests in America," John Dingell preserved both his huge congressional clout and a family dynasty that stretches back to the era of Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Dingell sounds like a liberal too, but at least he is pro-gun. The Ultra-Liberal Femi-Nazi Rivers went down in flames.
Watch for more Democrats to try to pull a Warner and hide their true feelings about gun-control, they are starting to see that it is a losing issue.
Don't ever believe their hype.
I hope a Republican can Beat Dingell in November, but at least, Rivers is not in there. :)

Dingell is in a heavily Democratic district, so he will be re-elected in November. I'm just glad he beat Rivers.
To: FF578
I'll say this for Dingell, he at least has always struck me as intelligent and as a grown up. And since he's also marginally more conservative than Rivers, I'm glad he won.

Hurrah! a feminazi loses!
Dingell is no treasure, but he's better than Rivers!
To: FF578
Dingell sounds like a liberal too I am riminded of what Kissenger said during the Iran/Iraq War... "Too bad they both can't lose."
To: FF578
"Kissinger"...

And since he's also marginally more conservative than Rivers, I'm glad he won.The big thing is that if the Dems win the House, Dingell is the Chairman of the Energy Committee. If he has lost, greenie extremist Henry 'The Nose' Waxman would chair that committee in a Democrat House.

Oh no, not Nostrilitis! Whew, all the more reason it's good Dingell won.

Remember the acronym CAFE. John Dingell knows that CAFE kills American automobile jobs. He's stauchly pro-firearms rights as is his son Michigan State Senator Chris Dingell. I have a great deal of respect for him, and e'en though I am firmly Republican, I have always voted for Dingell.
Until this election. The Michigan GOP, in their infinite redistricting wisdom, moved me into Carolyn Kilpatrick's district. (Barf choke gag.) Why, why???
To: Chemist_Geek
Uh, so you would quit voting for the dems? :)

This is good news all the way around. We can't have no pro-2nd ammendment Dems in Congress (unless we can get them all tossed out LOL) or the GOP will take us for granted even more.

Did intraparty vote fraud come into play?

The Michigan GOP, in their infinite redistricting wisdom, moved me into Carolyn Kilpatrick's district. (Barf choke gag.) Why, why??? My condolences. :^( On a brighter note for me, I got moved out of Sander Lenin's district into the 10th. Candace Miller ran unopposed in the GOP primary there.

I had a letter from the NRA asking if they should start supporting any pro-gun politician, regardless of party.
I think the reasoning behind what the NRA was asking was that it may be easier to change the platform of the dems than it would be to vote them all out. I used to live in a dem controlled one party town. I hated it and it also taught me to fear a one party system even a system that I may like.

Dingell isn't that vile - considering the ilk he runs with - the Evil Party!

Try the medical term for nostrals, or nose holes. It's nares. Pronounce it out, slow, and with a nasal tone, it becomes...Narrrreees! This totally fits the discription of the nares on our favorite congressmen Waxonyourmannsbutt. Big....Great Big...nares!
Got to love those narrreees!
