The state of california and the Peterson jury considered Conner a person.
Where exactly are your dog appendages growing on or in your body? Why would you want to destroy your dog appendages? You seem confused. I stated the fact that when a person dies all their appendages die with them. BTW, every person's body is their own property. Likewise, every animal's body is it's own property. Animals also have appendages.
The "key" to your argument is not "appendages" but "property".
You argue that a woman has the right to kill the fetus because (as an appendage) it is her property. She could cut her arm off under the same reasoning.
Based on this "right to my property" ,I could kill my dogs by crushing their brains and no one should question me.
You destroy your own argument when you tell me that "Likewise, every animal's body is it's own property." Therefore I do not have the right to kill them ?
Don't you see that you give my dogs (property)the right to their own body BUT you would not give the fetus (property) the same right.
I was pointing out that Lorianne's reliance on the word "born" to define "person" by using the 14th Amendment is faulty logic.
One must look beyond the Amendment itself to answer the question posed on this thread.
I agree 100%. But therin lies the problem. One must adhere to strict interpretations of the Constitution and its amendments. Otherwise, it gets to be a bit like divining meaning from Bible verse, in that there will always be more than one interpretation. Only one can be correct and sometimes none are.
Absolutely.
I keep trying to tell you that personhood is a continuum, but you just won't listen to me. :)
I think it looks like James Carville
so
It isn't human.
Biologically, you would be more accurate to characterize the preborn as parasites, rather than appendages. But I understand why you don't want to be that honest about this.
My daughter turns three tommorrow. Every time I see her take off and run for nothing more than the sake of being a kid and running, I think of the first ultrasound that showed her barely formed arms and legs flapping and kicking endlessly.
She was my little girl then, now and forever. There isn't a feminist, abortionist, MSM talking head or federal court judge who can convince me otherwise....
Very, very funny. LOL
Doesn't get any better than what you said Skip.
Has it filled out a W-4 yet?
It might surprise you how many educated people do not realize that your son built that umbilicus and the placenta to which it was attached. In fact, that placenta (and the amniotic sac extended from the first stem cells that did the building) was the first organ your son built for his own survival, and he cast it off upon exiting into the air world! But the exiting thing is, the stem cells he put in that placenta and the cord blood therein are rich sources of stem cells that can and do already cure diseases! Pretty nifty work for an 'amorphous non-person', to make stem cells that cure diseases in persons, don't you think?
Definitely a person.
The "key" to your argument is not "appendages" but "property".
Wrong. I addressed that aspect in an earlier post.
You argue that a woman has the right to kill the fetus because (as an appendage) it is her property.
You're wrong again. My argument has consistently been that the fetus is an appendage. I never stated my opinion on abortion.
Biologically, you would be more accurate to characterize the preborn as parasites, rather than appendages.
Appendage is most accurate as is property. The fetus is a natural female growth. A person owns all parts of their body.
But I understand why you don't want to be that honest about this.
I fully understand your need to demonize.
20 month old babies have survived ...., well I hope so, if they didn't humankind would not exist.
And I assumed as much, that you meant weeks, not months, sorry for the levity at your expense.
"I never stated my opinion on abortion..."
O.K. so what is opinion on abortion?
