Watch and pray. The rescuers are optimistic that they will reach the cavity where the miners are located by midnight, perhaps as soon as 10pm et.
They just reported that several PA miners were caught in a similar situation thirty years ago AND WERE RESCUED ALIVE AFTER A WEEK IN THE HOLE.

First words they heard, We been waiting for you.

Ha, you seem like a 'just' person.

They will love that laser pointer...but just be very careful it doesn't get in their eyes at all, as it can be harmful.

Well let me add my praises to God for delivering these men. So many prayers answered, I'm sure mostly by the men and their families!!!
And to the poster who said our Nation needed this boost, I agree!!!!!
Come on folks, everyone, don't forget that closeness you felt towards God right after 9-11. (please?)

Nah, the spokesman was just reacting with a little justifiable annoyance to the stupid questions (on details of Mr. Fogel's medical condition) he was receiving from the media mavens (heavens, what silly people! He had already told them that the family would be told first.)
The impression I got from his demeanor and hand gestures was, "Hey, he's alive, what MORE do you want right now? Be grateful for what you've got."
Praise the Lord and keep up the good work!

Our local news here in Tulsa stayed on slightly longer with a "Breaking News" story about the nine being still alive.

*wiping tears from eyes*
To: Lowelljr
I know it has been a tear jerker, but I am so happy they are ok. Still brings tears to my eyes, I guess it shows we are still human, and I thank God for that.
To: Lowelljr
Who knows whether or not they can fit 2 guys into the rescue pod? Then they would only need to make 4 more round trips instead of 8. (Did a paramedic go down first, or did they just send an empty basket?)
To: Lowelljr
Families will be able to watch live feed as they come out,can you imagine-they are 3 miles away from the site.

True. I'm an old hand with cats and laser pointers (my two get regular exercise sessions with the thing), and am careful not to lase them in the face/eyes. One completely ignores it while the other one chases the dot until he gets completely exhausted.

Thank you for that wonderful photo!
Look at the honest, true faces on those men. Good hands, too. Guys you would want with you in a bad place.

Praise the Lord!

Someone on scene there said the capsule is only 22 inches across....so only big enough for one at a time.
