Vanity....Allegations regarding the Elizabeth Smart Case.

I have been relatively active on some of the boards regarding the Elizabeth Smart case. As such, I have received numerous e-mails. This one came in just a little while ago. I am providing it for your consideration and comment.

Church or no church I believe ANY parent would have dialed 911 before anything, not run around the neighborhood and calling bishops and all. I realize Mormons are deeply into all this formality but it's their child. Call them after. But before?

Also, there's the matter of all the "people" in the home before the police arrive. I cannot believe that one of those people didn't say.. Wait.. we shouldn't be here now.

Then there's the matter of a kidnapper knowing exactly where the child's bedroom is. I know 14 is not a child, but it is to me. The kidnapper had to pass the parents bedroom not once but twice. Then he allowed her to put her sneakers/shoes on. Would you waste that precious time?

Then there's the matter of the 9 year old waiting two hours before notifying the parents. Tell me, did she really look at the clock? I doubt it. Apparently she was going to the parents room but saw the kidnapper in the house. Where did she see the kidnapper for the second time? Why did he linger in the house with his victim?

We have not heard of anything being taken from the home as in a burglary.. where are the fingerprints? We don't even know if there are any. How did the perp enter the home? If the doors were locked he either had a key or the door was unlocked. I find an unlocked door hard to believe. What was the exit route?

Now as for the child, the 9 year old seeing the perp. She can see he's wearing a "polo" shirt, that he was wearing a jacket, she can see hair on his hands, a hat all this while pretending to be asleep. But no composite? Why wasn't that done?

I have also read that she was in fact questioned by the authorities three times and each time in the presence of her mother.

Any and all information that the public has been fed was contradicted after the fact. Mr Smart himself can not answer a straight question because he doesnt want to jeopardize the case. But yet he goes on a Press Conf. and tells us about a letter that was recieved. A letter the police were, at the time, unaware of. A letter that Uncle Tom FAXED to the police department and today we hear about an E-mail he "accidently" deleted. Again, the police knew nothing.

Now you can laugh about the Enquirer being a rag magazine but they have no fear of anything especially law suits and have, believe it or not, award winning journalists working for them. This alleged "gay" porn found on the Smart computers.. this collection of supposed sexual perversion would destroy them in the Mormon community if proven to be true. When Mr Smart was questioned on it, his answer was not something a "normal" person would say, (in my opinion anyway).

Instead, he said something like.. it's irrelevant or nothing to be concerned with. Someone else might say "that's absurd" or "yeah, so what. I had porn on my computer. Who cares!"

It seems to me that this whole ordeal is either a total sham for money or notoriety or he knows exactly where his daughter is and always has but it's gone beyond his control and now has to play his own game.

In my own opinion, and I stress this as I have no solid proof to back it up, I think this child is alive and now with one of the other wives. I think Smart got himself into severe financial trouble or he was being blackmailed because of his sexual preferences.

These are just a few thoughts of mine so tear it apart if you will but these are my opinions and thanks for asking.

Do you not think it is odd, that no composite drawing was made? There really is'nt any thing for the public to help them with, theres' just nothing. That is what is so odd.
Altho I did hear today on the news, that some one had taken a picture of who they thought was Ricci, wearing that white cap, digging with a post hole digger. Did you hear that?

What does "do anything for her big sister" mean? She would do anything she feels she has to do to keep her family from arrest and being torn apart even worse.
The perp made her participate in the scheme somehow... and that's how he gets cooperation and silence. Child molesters know how to use shame and threats and to make up wild stories and get children to lie for them....

I am in Ohio and I don't know anything about Utah, but here, almost anyone in construction would know that a floor plan and plot plan are filed to get a building permit. These blueprints can be viewed and copied by the public and are open to the public.

I think the police in the Smart case are clueless, and they floated the story that only someone that knew the family or a family member might be involved because the abductor knew where the child slept. I have also noticed they are not stressing that point any longer.

I would construct a list of everyone that has ever been in that house. Since the father built the house and contracted the work out he could put a list together easily enough. The idea that this was a staged elopement can't be overlooked as well.

I believe her story. Her sister has to have a new fence. There is no way she would make up a story like this and risk going to jail over it, there's nothing in it for her unless it's true and leads to Ricci's conviction which will earn her reward money maybe. I can't figure out the cold shoulder she got today from the SLPD sergeant, the FBI spokesman, and the DA office representative? There are a lot of mysteries in this case to me.

I have a couple of theories on the email. Theory 1) Ed Smart heard through the grapevine about a something going on between Ricci's attorney and someone else and their attorney about a sighting of Ricci 2 days after the kidnapping in Wyoming. He can't get anything out of SLPD about it so he makes up this story about the missing email of someone who saw Ricci two days after the kidnapping putting a fence in for a neighbor in Wyoming and asks them to contact him. Not wanting to lose out on being first in line for the reward money Newhouse immediately goes to her lawyer and gets the affidavit officially submitted before this other person can get their claim in. I don't think it's a coincidence Ed put this story out and Newhouse just happened to submit this affidavit a few hours later.

What do you think the big hurry was, if it wasn't to beat out this person that had emailed Ed Smart for the scoop to get the award money. I think Ed Smart is smart like a fox. I don't think he ever got an email, he just got wind of what was going on and wanted to draw her out.

No, not really. It was dark, I think the perp was probably wearing a mask, or his face stayed in the shadow. If there was a sketch made, it would be out there. Everyone makes a big hoohah about Marie Boylan and Tom Smart not wanting her to make the composite drawing. Don't y'all think that the FBI has their own sketch artists, and that if they wanted a sketch done, a sketch would have been done, without the permission of the family???

If y'all will go to this thread, there are many stories posted about the woman in Wyoming and the affadavit given by her sister in SLC. Pretty interesting stuff. Start at post 133 and scroll down, there were several stories posted today on this thread.

what I simply meant is that MK would tell the truth for her sister....she is not lying nor is she with-holding info....I believe she is fully cooperative with the cops.....

I just do not know for sure what she saw....

the strangeness of this abduction story is upsetting....the facts are not lining up right ....I am just saying that that is NOT MK's fault....the cops have directed what has been said at their press conferences....so its the cops, not Mk....its their story and their descriptions that have changed...but that is just my opinion....

There really isn't room where the Smarts live, well on the street there isn't room to hold press conferences. I can't remember if they live in a cul-de-sac or at the end of a street, but if the media camped out in front of the Smart house, it would definitely impede the neighborhood.

I don't see the big deal about holding it at the church. There are phones there, there are many rooms there where interviews can be held (and have been held), there is a satellite dish or two there to transmit the reports, and the church is empty during the day. What an ideal location.

I'm going to find the picture of where the Smarts live to show y'all the lack of space in front of the house...

Theres' just something odd about the whole case, when they give news conferences they always talk to her like she is out there listening.

It's been that way from the beginning. Someone in this family knows something.. I believe Ricci is innocent of the kidnapping..There's something the family doesn't want the embarrassment of. Is this why they hired a PR firm instead of a private detective?

But sources say the media story was frustrating to investigators because they believe Newhouse has no credibility. And that investigators went to Cheyenne...and found nothing.

Sigh- too bad, when I heard this on MSNBC, I thought it would come together and she'd be found.

I watched the late local news this evening, the channel that originally broke the story. They are standing behind the story, and showed a copy of the affadavit. Dea Ann Newhouse did go before the grand jury sometime this month, but the information in the affadavit is different than what she was asked in the grand jury. Something in the story is just not hanging right.

KTVX also said that the reason Newhouse wouldn't talk to the other newschannels here was because they were too slow contacting here, and she didn't like them. She's a pretty rough looking lady. I'm going to try to find the affadavit and post it tomorrow. Very interesting allegations in it.
