One of the fastest growing churches among homosexuals in America and around the world is the Metropolitan Community Church – a "Christian" church specifically for "gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered communities." The MCC was originally started by openly homosexual ex-Baptist minister, Troy Perry, who after the discovery and disclosure of his homosexuality, losing his license as a minister, a divorce and estrangement from his wife and children, as well as a failed suicide attempt, "rediscovered" his rainbow-colored vocation and ministry.
From his Los Angeles living room in 1968, Perry and his initial 12 members began their "gay church." According to their website, in 2003, the MCC will embody over 77,000 members, spanning more than 17 countries around the globe. Tens of thousands of so-called faithful "Christian" homosexual men and women flock weekly to MCC-affiliated churches worldwide to be "reaffirmed" with the message that God loves them and "gay is OK."
The Rev. Troy Perry, highly regarded in gay circles, has been an invited guest to the White House on four separate occasions from 1977 to 1997 – three alone by former President Bill Clinton. In 1997, Clinton "celebrated" Perry as an "honoree" at a White House breakfast recognizing 100 national "spiritual leaders" in America.
I don't know where this new "open and affirming" world would be today without this modern-day homosexual prophet and "gay"-savvy biblical interpreter. According to Perry and the MCC's official website, for over 2,000 years, Christians including myself, have been interpreting the Bible wrong. Maybe you have, too. Did you know:
In the immoral days in which we live, homosexual men and women are grasping for every possible straw to get acceptance for their destructive, aberrant lifestyle. The secret gay agenda has infiltrated the media, Hollywood, the public schools, the government and, yes, now even religion. How sad to say homosexuals have gone as far as to try and hijack and pervert biblical Christianity and the Gospel of Jesus Christ – all in the name of "gay sex." And America, we've let it happen.
As a man who once lived as a homosexual, my heart continually breaks for those lost in the web of the "gay" deception – a life of sadness, loneliness, pain and even death. Yet a godly anger within me burns even more for those who have the gall and nerve to try and make my Lord and Saviour, the One who rescued me from the tentacles and grips of the homosexual lifestyle, into the "God of Gay."
It may be a "rainbow day" for these misguided men and women now ... in biblical terms, "the pleasures of sin for a season." I highly doubt that it will be as colorful a day when they hear the words from the God whom they thought was so "open and affirming": "Get away from, ye that work iniquity ... I never knew you."
May they be miraculously reached with the truth in love, before it's too late.

I am pretty much convinced that neither of the two sides of the argument being discussed have been proven correct(sickness/inborn). Additionally, it does not matter to me which side "turns out" to be correct, if either do. This is as close to objectivity as I can get, without going into double-blind scenarios, etc.
From your post, John, I am fairly sure you advocate the "sickness" argument, for a number of reasons, only a few of which claim to be research based. I imagine you find homosexual conduct repugnant and sinful, but I may be wrong. Regardless of your reasons for backing the sickness theory, you still are centered on only that side of the argument, and thus seek to further that argument over the "inborn" theory. The outcome of the argument, proving that homosexuality is a curable disease, is your ultimate goal. This is inherently subjective, and any opinion presented by you with this mindset is therefore subjective. This has nothing to do with how "right" or "wrong" you believe you are.
Additionally, you brought up some behavior issues with homosexuals; specifically, defending what they do. I must assume you mean what they do to each other? The consensual stuff? If that is the case, why would any adults need to defend consensual activites in private? I personally find that behavior gross, but I sure as heck don't think it's any of my business. Is that what you meant? Or am I misinterpreting?
The point in this issue as started in post 61 is whether or not SAD is curable. mille99 believes it is not. "you're either gay or you're not". My point is that it is curable
The average SAD cannot accept the possibility that SAD is curable because that would destroy their image of the world (the old God made me this way I can't change so I'm not accountable for my choices shtick). This totally prevents any objectivity on their part in the discussion. I (the Christian) can look open eyed at the 'curability' of SAD since I have no world image to protect that would be damaged by it. Therefore I can look at the tons of ex-SADs and know that the condition is not permanent no matter what anyone says, and remain objective to a far greater degree than the SAD can. 2. homosexuals defense of homosexuality: I didn't address what they do. If they did it in private and stopped rubbing the world's face in it, it wouldn't be a problem (it would stay between them and God so to speak)
What I addressed was the SADs defense of the SAD world image. (SAD is incurable, I was made this way, the Bible was corrupted and really doesn't condemn homosexual behavior etc). They cannot let these myths be corrected else they become accountable for their choices again, therefore they defend them with radical eyes-held-tightly-shut fanaticism.

The leading indicator is their insistence that you can not love someone without wanting to have sex with them. Heteros don't believe this. It is part of the homosexual illness.

The aggressive ouster of religion and Judeo-Christian-based virtue from public life--including government--is a recent phenomenon, tracing back a mere 60 years or so. Thanks for saying so! On the second premise, adult heterosexual males do not sexually molest teenage boys. But since we do not know who is who, we are left with not allowing adult males around male kids or teenagers (as in Boy Scouts).
But that's not my basic premise. I'm fine with live and let live. I've never hated anyone in my life. But as I say, in the Boy Scouts, Catholic Church, public school situations, (aggressive) homosexuals (who may well not be representative of all), have insisted on access to my kids (sons), and actually endangered them. Not OK with me. I'm tired of being called a hater and a bigot because I don't want homosexual men in close quarters with my teenage sons, or in positions to influence them in ways I don't agree with. I do understand that many homosexuals are not political activists. The political activists have done them a disservice by making enemies out of people like me. Again, live and let live - but on BOTH sides.

Yes, Jonathan and David, the soldiers. This is something that is totally beyond the understanding of these pathetic individuals. Their world view is so totally warped by their preoccupation that they have to distort a perfectly normal and honorable relationship into a self reflecting perversion in order to fulfill their overwhelming need to feel normal. They cannot understand the unselfish love that exists in the Brotherhood of Arms.
