There are a few, but not in the US House or Senate. They are at the local level and mostly in unimportant offices.

I beg to differ.
I'll nominate my Congressman Bob Goodlatte, 6th District of Virginia. Although we have our difference he has always been a person you can trust.
I would also nominate Senator George Allen for the same reasons.
None of us are perfect, but these two men are striving to represent their district/state as best they can.
I am proud they are representing me in DC
