"People are mistaking their competence because they think of these men as living in caves and primitive, which is far from the truth, indeed."

Not me.

When I heard they were using steganography, I knew they were sophisticated. Low budget, no access to good military hardware -- but sophisticated with the tools they have.

steganography,

I have never seen this word before and have no idea what it means. (And it's not in my college year's Collegiate Dictionary.) I know I sound pretty dumb here, but what does it mean?

Morning for YOU, Vampire. :o)

Me, I'm just getting in after some power work then some power playing. :o) I'm gonna grab my puppy and my woman and head to bed soon. :o)

BTW: You rock. Any chance we will ever meet in person? I really want to meet you before I shuffle off this mortal coil.....You are, like, one of my very favorite people.....

For a vampire, that is....

Steganography is the science of encoding messages in music or photographic digital files. You make the message 'disappear' by making it seem more like statistical sampling 'noise'. It is somewhat difficult to detect a steganographic message, particularly if it is also encrypted via PGP or some other robust cryptographic technology.

I studied cryptology as a hobby for a few years way back when. One thing I discovered is that if you encrypt an already-encrypted message, the mathematic 'feedback' between the two processes causes the message to be drastically easier to crack. Rule: Encrypt only once, or become transparant.

Even though you thirst for human blood, I still love ya.

Not in a gay way, mind you.

Are there algorythmic decryptions available through which they can check their vulnerability?

Steganpgraphy is tricky. You gotta know a message exists to decode it. And even if you know it exists, if it is encrypted, it helps a lot to have an original copy of the music or pic to crack it.

It's not easy. People who want to communicate via steganography have a leg up.

Is there a possible connect-the-dots to the recent mpg/CD copying game? Are we not vigilant?

Yeah, we know you rock too but we don't take it for granite.

Did your mom ever make you wash out your mouth with soapstone?
