My fellow Freepers ;
My cousin Darryl, who is 17, and his soon to be wife, Kim, are about to lose their newborn girl, Kaitland Marie. She probably won't see the Sunday sunrise.
Kaitland Marie was born on May 17, and weighed 8pounds 6 ozs. Nothing appeared wrong, but she wouldn't breast feed.
On Tuesday, the 28st, she got sick, and her Dr. sent her to Scottish Rite in Atlanta. She was put in ICU.
Wednesday, her liver shut down. Thursday, her kidneys. The Dr.s then told Darryl and Kim that the baby had no hope of recovery.
Since Thursday, the Hospital staff has revived her 3 times after her heart stopped, against the wishes of everyone involved.
Tonight, the Dr.s have finally said no more cpr, so her time is near to be with the Lord.
Both families involved are involved with churches, and have recieved many prayers and much food.
But, I feel that someone can never use enough prayer. So, I ask for the prayers of all you freepers for the soul of this little girl, and for the families involved.
Although the parents are both young, and they were not married at the time of birth, they waited so that Kim's Father's insurance would pay for the baby. Both kid's are really good kids who really need our prayers.
Lastly, how does everyone feel that the hospital didn't care for the parents wishes not to revive?
"Nothing follows. It's just sad...........FRegards"
Thank you for your prayers.
And yes, it is very sad. But, both families are regular church goers and have strong faith.
And my family has been very fortunate to never have lost a child or young person.
I did tell Darryl the story of some friends who lost a 2 Year old girl to Leaukemia, and made the point that it's a little easier when they haven't been a part of your life for a couple of years.
So, we are not bitter...just sad : ^ (>
Doctors, nurses and other health care workers are in the business of saving lives. I find it easy to forgive them when they try too hard.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Rom 8:28 NAS
Thank you.

Thanks for your prayers, comments, and the scripture.
While I admire health care professional's very much, I question their decision to prolong the death and suffering of Kaitland, against the wishes of ALL family involved.
Chorus:
Oh! I will take you back, Kathleen
To where your heart will feel no pain
And when the fields are fresh and green
I'II take you to your home again!
2. I know you love me, Kathleen, dear
Your heart was ever fond and true.
I always feel when you are near
That life holds nothing, dear, but you.
The smiles that once you gave to me
I scarcely ever see them now
Though many, many times I see
A dark'ning shadow on your brow.
Chorus:
3. To that dear home beyond the sea
My Kathleen shall again return.
And when thy old friends welcome thee
Thy loving heart will cease to yearn.
Where laughs the little silver stream
Beside your mother's humble cot
And brightest rays of sunshine gleam
There all your grief will be forgot.
Chorus:
After by sister Kathleen died...my parents 2nd child---my mother told me before she died she was so determined by her faith in God they had eleven more. I am number four. The only song my father played good on the harmonica. Everytime I hear this song now...this is how my life and family began...'alvietersien(till we meet again)'!
Oh! I will take you back, Kathleen
To where your heart will feel no pain
And when the fields are fresh and green
I'II take you to your home again!
I do appreciate your sympathy and advice. And, I am pretty new here.
I am very sorry for the error, but 74 hours worth of work(16 today)in between hospital visits, doing favors for the family, etc. I guess I let fatigue fog my judgement.
