I want to find a mom who is more concerned with the moral upbringing of her child than making fast money doing immoral things so her child can talk about it with the other children at school.
Kudos to the pastor who attempted to work this out in a compassionate way with this woman.

There is a similar story in Kansas City this week. A young woman with a child in a private Christian school was discovered to be employed in a strip club and her child was expelled from the school. She was divorced and dancing on the days when the chold was with the father.
I can't find anything on the web to link yet...

I want to find a school less concerned with image and more concerned with the welfare of children. Now that's a Hillary comment if I ever heard one. Liberals sound alike. Not only that, they miss the point entirely.

Isn't that special. I would bet that a lot of Freepers are only defending her because she is a stripper. If she was a member of Planned Parenthood or CAIR, this woul have no play here. (And yes, she is a skank).

No road trip?

Silvas said her daughter will not be returning to the school to attend first grade. As I say, as an atheist, I am always happy when the church manages to drive someone away. Hooray.

But Silvas said her daughter will not be returning to the school to attend first grade.Frankly, even though I don't approve a mom stripping, I don't blame her. A church that tries to tell you what to do in your own home or on your own time is unacceptable. This is exactly the reason my family homechurch.

I'm praying for Ms. Silvas and her daughter. It is painfully obvious that she has no clue whatsoever what traditional family values are and what a Christian is. I was struck by the fact that she does seem to love her daughter even though her values are misplaced. Prayers in progress...

This was the same denomination that brought us Jessica Hahn, Jimmy Swaggart, and Jim Baker. I wonder how many shows Pastor Cole had to attend as "research" for his decision. I was in an Assembly of God church for about a year and a half. There are some very good people there, but my personal feeling having been in many kinds of churches is that they have a high percentage of whackos (to put it as nicely as possible).

I wonder if the stripper mom will lay low now, or try to exploit this new-found celebrity by posing for something else besides this calendar.
I saw the tape of her and her little girl for their local TV station. The 5 year old is the only innocent one in all of this.

Christina Silvas, 24, agreed to stop working at Gold Club Centerfolds off Highway 50 for at least the next three weeks so her daughter can graduate from kindergarten and attend the end-of-the-year pool party she had been looking forward to. Huh???
If she's just taking a three-week furlough, I can't see why that should change anything. If I were the school, I'd take a pass on the mother's "offer" of temporary morality.

This is just another stupid O'Reilly populist issue. This is a private school, run by a charismatic Christian church. They have every right to require that the families of the students in their school adhere to their religious beliefs. There is no way in the world that a member of this church could work as a stripper and still hold the same beliefs. My guess is that the woman lives in an area that she deems to be unsafe and that she does believe that her daughter is better off in this school, but not that her daughter should be brought up to believe that dancing is evil.
This woman is fortunate that the church sought to expel her daughter rather than teach her that strip dancing was the work of the devil and would condemn her mother to Hell.

You know, it just struck me what a strange place California is. In a Christian school like this, a little girl can get expelled because her mom is a stripper. If she went to public school, her mom would be invited to perform for the class as part of some "diversity" initiative. Life just doesn't get any weirder.

Yeah...I'll never forget my graduation from Kindergarten. Woops, I was wrong...I don't even remember being in Kindergarten except for a few mental pictures of the classroom, etc.
