Let's forget all this 3rd Party nonsense. The key to getting our agenda through is kicking the RINOs out of the GOP and making sure we have a REAL conservative majority in Congress. One RINO who absolutely must be defeated is Jim Greenwood of Pennsylvania's 8th Congressional District.

The guy running against him, Tom Lingenfelter, just started running some truly hard hitting ads on talk radio today. They are perhaps the gutsy-est political ads I've ever heard. He has a voice-over (Paul Shanklin?) doing an impression of Bill Clinton giving Greenwood an endorsement, saying words to the effect of "He's my kind of Republican - one who votes like a Democrat."

Lingenfelter is definitely worthy of Freeper support and I encourage all of you to visit his web site, donate if possible, and tell any of your friends and relatives in PA about this important race.

Apologies for my inability with HTML. Needless to say, all statements in black go under Lingenfelter, shades of gray under the NARAL-financed RINO.

Greenwood represents Bucks County, right? If so, he is appropriate for his district. Nevertheless, more power to you if you can take him out in this RINO/"independent" area.

Greenwood says GOP must back abortion rights
03/14/01

WASHINGTON (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Jim Greenwood told fellow Republican abortion rights supporters Tuesday that they need to be "righteously indignant" in pushing for abortion rights to ensure the party's long-term success.

"The main reason we have had problems on Election Day is because of the gender gap, and the gender gap is all about choice," Greenwood, representing the 8th District, said at a meeting of the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition.

The Pennsylvanian noted that the GOP had lost the popular vote in the last three presidential elections and efforts to restrict abortion rights would continue to alienate voters. He even opposed efforts to ban the late-term procedure that opponents call "partial birth" abortion.

"If we give up now, our party will die, our freedoms will die, and our women will die," added Greenwood, whose district includes all of Bucks County and part of Montgomery County.

He said when lobbying Congress, activists should emphasize the importance of taking the issue out of the political arena and making it purely a matter of personal conscience.

President Bush has said he opposes abortion but that the country is not ready to support efforts to overturn the 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized it.

Bush has said he favors outlawing the "partial birth" procedure, but the U.S. Supreme Court struck down such a ban last year. GOP leaders in Congress have said they want to find a way to rewrite the bill so the high court will not strike it down.

Three times during his presidency, Clinton vetoed legislation that would have banned the procedure.

What exactly is that supposed to mean?

Bucks County is RINO and supported Al Gore in 2000. Nevertheless, it is a nice place to live if you can afford it.

What an idiot. I think 'Choice' is an issue in major cities in the north east, and almost nowhere else. Where will the GOP never do well? Major cities in the north east, surprisingly.

Hey, rather than get upset, why not prove her wrong? This disgrace of a RINO has ruled the roost over here long enough.

What an idiot.

He's more than an idiot. This kind of thinking is a cancer on the party. Unless it is removed, it will spread and eventually result in death.

Jim Greenwood - Posterboy for the Culture of Death.

Personally, I would love to see Greenwood go down the chute. He IS a disgrace. Anyone, however, who thinks Bucks is an enclave of the rich has no idea what they are talking about.

I agree that Greenwood must go, if for no other reason than that he is a hypocrite. For those of you who remember 1992: One of his campaign planks was that he supported term limits. But, guess what? After he was elected and realized the luxuries of incumbency, he decided that term limits weren't such a great idea. Of course, his hypocrisy is shared by many others. Second, he has consistently voted for the Congressional pay raises, which I consider disgusting. (Especially the last one, which occurred during wartime AND a quasi-recession.) Again, he is hardly the only one who can be criticized for this. But, whether his faults are specific to him or not, they are real, and for them I reject him. (I recognize, of course, that there are plenty of other reasons he must go as well….)

I recognize, of course, that there are plenty of other reasons he must go as well…

Amongst them is his record of wanting to keep the U.S. oil dependent.

21 Jun 01, he voted to prohibit production of oil and gas in the Gulf of Mexico.
28 Jun 01 he voted to support Bonior's (D-MI) successful amendment to ban additional oil and Gas drilling in the Great Lakes. Drilling that had been ongoing successfully for more than 50 years.
1 Aug 01 he voted to continue the prohibition on drilling for oil in ANWR and he also voted to stiffen CAFE standards regarding SUV's & pickup trucks.

He voted for the federal land acquisition crime bill, CARA. The 47 billion dollar attack on private property rights that is designed to aggressively acquire land with no restrictions on the state or federal agents power to condemn property. CARA had freepers attention in the past.

Greenwood voted to gut the Patients Bill of Rights. The amendment that was successfully added sometime after the Patients Bill of Rights was announced, successfully removed the consumers ability to hold managed care plans accountable when they wrongly deny or delay care that results in death or injury to the patient.

Greenwood likes to point to the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children's Act (H.R. 2887) as an example of how he is looking after your family.

What H.R. 2887 mostly does is cost consumers an estimated 14 billion dollars over 20 years because of the six month monopoly patent extension given drug companies, if they test their existing drugs on children. Something any sane person would think they would do before the drug is submitted for FDA approval.

And for the women of Bucks who misconstrue Greenwood's abortion stance as a concern for the health and well being of women, consider this. Greenwood voted against the Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act championed by the National Breast Cancer Coalition.

The above issues, coupled with the emerging facts that women are experiencing an increased number of physical & mental illnesses after aborting, indicate that Jim Greenwood is not really interested in our children. He doesn't care about women. And the sick and elderly are only to be manipulated for his advancement.

So if he don't really care for children, women, the aged or the infirmed, who is he looking out for?

A good way to start learning about Greenwood is by doing a google on Jim Greenwood and the UN.
