One thing that seems to be lost in all the discussion, is the creation of the "Palestinian" myth. Yassir Arafat has singlehandedly fomented the notion for almost a half century. Initially, he was funded by the Soviet Union - arms and millions of dollars in aid to fund his Marxist revolution against Israel and US imperialism. Arafat is not a Muslim fundamentalist. He is a Marxist dictator. A murderer and a terrorist. Notice how he and Fidel Castro both buy their suits from the same boutiques? He exploits the Muslim fanatics because it furthers his goal of creating a Marxist state. When the collapse of the Soviet Union threatened his continued existence and funding, US taxpayers stepped in to fill the gap - idiots that we are.
He may have lost some very significant ground though. See this:

I too tried to keep an open mind in regards to the issues they're facing. That ended on 9/11 with the images (that the media tried unsuccessfully to supress) of Palestinians celebrating in the streets. Now I don't give a f--- about the whole lot of them.
If Israel wiped every last Pali from the face of the earth, I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over it. Harsh? Certainly. But that's how I feel. These people elicit no sympathy from me whatsoever.
