Jocelyn Elders-- just the kind of person we might expect as a Clinton administration apointee. Is she morally bankrupt, morally corrupt, or simply insane?

If we taught our kids about human sexuality the way she wants, half of them would get The Clapner by age 15.
To: AlexanderTheGreat
I only caught the end of it. I thought people would like to know about this. She argued that the book (I forget its title) doesn't argue for pedophilia, and O'Reilly disagreed. They also talked about abstinence education, which she said should be "suplemented" with other stuff. (these are paraphrases of course).

Well, what was her argument? Apparently she wrote the foreword to a book advocating the "normalization" of adult/child sexual activity. O'Reilly read some passages from the book which poo-pooed what any sane person would call pedophilia.
But Elders would deny what the quote was saying and would basically say that it meant something else.
So, either she is a total pervert, a complete idiot or a little of both. I'll go with the third option.
To: Aquinasfan
I'll agree with you. I think she's a little of both too.

. Is she morally bankrupt, morally corrupt, or simply insane? Yes on the first two - but I don't think she's insane, I think she is just the most stupid, ignorant person I've ever seen. The idea that this woman could have "earned" a medical degree and that she can call herself "Dr." makes me want to retch. She can't even put two words together that make any sense. She sounds functionally illiterate - she can't even correctly pronounce words of more than one syllable.
Typical Clinton minority "showcase" appointee - imagine her in a dialogue with Condoleeza Rice...
To: Pyro7480
All I can say is no wonder Clinton liked her. She would probably excuse everything he did in the Oval Office.

The Clapner by age 15. Gawd, I'll never forget that one - it would be hilarious if it wasn't so tellingly tragic after hearing her illiterate spewings tonight.

That's my vote, too!

Either she just outright lied on TV or she is insane. Maybe both. She did have a goofy smirk on her face.
Bill read parts of the book in simple English and Elers insited that no, it's not saying what it is saying.

Doesn't she have a kid in the slammer for abusing drugs? I have the feeling that she's going to go the way of Madalyn Murray O'Hair.
To: Dante3
Elders insited that no, it's not saying what it is saying.
I guess it all boils down to what the definition of is is.

Well she worked for a guy who said it depended on what the meaning of "is" is.

I saw it and can't believe what a twit she is.
Even though she was brought on to defend the writings of this perverted woman and try to explain the foreword Elders wrote for this sick book, she couldn't defend the woman's book on any account.
This woman was our surgeon general! Ugh!
To: Fraulein
It's not saying what it's saying, even though a reasonable person would conclude that it is saying what it's saying. These are the same people who think the Constitution is a "living" document and can be made to say whatever the reader wants it to say.
