Demonstrators from all points of the activist compass plan to take their varied causes to the streets of downtown Washington next weekend for what is shaping up to be a massive display of multi-purpose protest.
At least four demonstrations are set for April 20 in the heart of the capital, and organizers say they expect crowds to number anywhere from several thousand to tens of thousands, though no one can say exactly how many. Protests are also planned that Friday, Sunday and Monday.

C'mon FReepers, let's have a huge showing for this, the opposition will be out in force.
See this thread for Patriots Rally for America info: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/661697/posts
(Gee, come to think of it, I'd also demonstrate against the Democrats, too, not just against some quislings in the Administration these days).
"The four-day campaign will feature a diversity of dissent, including anti-globalization protesters speaking out against international financial institutions, college students condemning the war in Afghanistan, Palestinian-rights demonstrators rallying against U.S. aid to Israel and activists fighting military and economic injustice in Colombia."
The DC Chapter/Rally for America counter-demonstration's purpose is to show support for our troops and for the President in the war against terrorism.

Black Bloc Alert
We will be there. The question is: WILL YOU?

I'm looking forward to it... I live so close to DC, but haven't been active since the 2000 election debacle.......but moving and getting married are good excuses for having no free time the past year.
Hope you can make it, spring in DC is the best time to be outside all day supporting a good cause.
Kristinn had a good post about parking here.
To quote him directly, "Street parking is available on Constitution Ave. from the Lincoln Memorial (23rd St.) all the way down the Mall. There is street parking on the numerous side streets north of the Mall between 23rd St. and 15th St.
There are also some parking garages open on Saturdays in the downtown area.
If you do drive, come early for the best chance for close-in parking.
Metrorail has parking lots at stations on the the Red, Orange and Blue lines in Maryland. The closest stations to the Rally are Smithsonian, Federal Triangle, Farragut West and Farragut North.
For the Orange line: There's a very large mall parking garage near the Ballston station in Virginia (entrance on Glebe Road). A smaller Metro parking lot at the East Falls Church station. A number of commercial parking garages in Rosslyn (just on the other side of Georgetown's Key Bridge). And two huge Metro lots/garages at the Vienna station, although that's getting pretty far out.
