Eventually, the oil to Europe will be cut off by the Arabs. Then -- self-interest having reared its ugly head -- Europe will go to war. If logic doesn't work, if justice doesn't work, if respect for allies doesn't work, we can always count on unvarnished self-interest. Even the French are selfish. Or should I say, especially the French are selfish?

I have to wonder whether Tony Blair lines the toilet bowl with the Mirror before...well, you know:
"Poodle, am I?...[gurgle, gurgle, plop, plop]...ahhhhh.
"Woof, woof, you sods."

"America does not give a damn whether we support them or not. They'll just do what they've always done - and that's precisely what suits them. That's fine." At it's heart, this is true. However; it will take fortitude.
It takes no courage to be like the French.

Oh no the EURO'S will wait until it to late, then they will come crying that it's the duty of the U.S.A. to once again bail them out.
Stinking, whining cowards.

It's even more than selfishness. This is not going to stop with 9/11. The muslinatics will hit Europe also...mainly because they show weakness.

He rolled over like a rather docile poodle, wagged his tail dutifully, and agreed to everything the war-hungry American President wanted.
Theyre so used to Blair rolling over and agreeing to everything the leftist press wants.
We don't believe your extraordinary inference that Europe is virtually impotent unless we're shoulder to shoulder with America.
Believe it.
He's not very bright, he smirks a lot when discussing very serious matters, and he's hell bent on avenging what happened to his country on September 11.
If he only tried a little harder in school, he might have become a pusillanimous, hand-wringing, surrender-monkey, writing snarky, petulant editorials for the effete toothless British press.
Let's be real here: America does not give a damn whether we support them or not.
Finally, some truth, though Blair's unexpected support since 911 has been heartwarming.
That's fine, so long as we don't get dragged along for the inevitable very bloody ride.
Speaking of inevitable very bloody rides, wheres that brutal Afghan winter weve been waiting for? You know, the one that the British press promised would bog down our forces and lead to a slaughter of our troops by the well-conditioned fighting god-men of the Taliban.
It will also be a massive drain on our own military resources when we least need it.
Oh yeah, who knows when some shepherds might try to reclaim the Falklands?

I thought Neville Chamberlain was dead. Perhaps he is one of "The editors" of The Mirror.
Dead or alive, appeasement is as good a policy today as it was in Hitler's time, and this article supports it. I guess some people are too stupid to learn from history -- even press pundits who think a journalism degree makes them smarter than everyone else on the planet.
It will be interesting to see what these puerile hacks have to write when they find themselves facing attacks from Arabs instead of the IRA. Should be good for a few laughs.
Will they roll over like a docile poodle, then?

The Brits are starting to sound like the French. Ingrates! I suppose it was only a matter of time after they joined the EU, but the transition seems to be occuring rather fast.

The muslinatics will hit Europe also...mainly because they show weakness. Unfortunately, it may need to happen before the European states fully realize that the War on Terror is not only an American war.

Didn't these clowns lose the what became the US this way? Slow learners but big whiners. You don't speak for all the Brit's, a lot of them are plenty tough minded.

"Leadership is the ability to get people to do things they did not want to do, and make them happy they did them."
Winston Churchill
Leadership, therefore, often requires the ability to get things done, despite resistance.
The Mirror has foolishly called President Bush "not very bright", but the facts speak for themselves. President Bush is a strong American leader and most European leaders have appeared inept since September 11th.
