Strange lights baffle Bavarians

MUNICH, April 7: Strange lights in the sky baffled Bavarians late on Saturday as hundreds of panicked callers jammed police telephone lines seeking an explanation for the phenomenon.

Reports of an unsettling late-night natural light show came from all over the southern German state as well as the neighbouring region of Baden-Wuerttemberg.

"It had nothing to do with the weather. But I don't think little green men from Mars have landed in Bavaria. It was something burning out in the atmosphere," a meteorologist said. "It was like a huge firework," a TV correspondent in Munich said, describing the display. "You could even see it through half-closed blinds. It lasted around three seconds," she said.

Pilots flying into Munich airport radioed the control tower with reports of unusual lights in the sky.

The German police said NASA scientists initially thought the light was caused by space junk - floating debris in the Earth's atmosphere - but later said they were still unsure.

The German army reported no unusual movements on its radar.-Reuters

I was wondering when we'd hear another UFO report again. I thought they went out of style after the turn of the century, I was getting a little disappointed.

X-File bump!

In a related story, a BMW factory R&D spokesman in Munich says that due to a tragic antimatter containment field failure, the release of the new K2000RS plasma bike may be delayed as much as a year.

This has already been pretty clearly established to have been two separate fireball meteors several hours apart...one over the North Sea, one over Bavaria.

Interesting, of course, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Oh get real. This close to Earth? Not likely.

It is interesting to note that for many years the true appearance of the Klingon race was unkown. The "Klingons" encountered along the Federation border with the Empire were a Klingon-human fusion, genetically created to make infiltration into Federation areas easier. The interception of the Amar transmission during the V'Ger incident revealed the true nature of the Imperial Klingon race and stunned Federation science. Before that time, no one had suspected that the Klingons were capable of such advanced genetic engineering, and a great deal of rethinking was done concerning the level of Klingon technology.
