Live Thread: President Bush and Prime Minister Blair Press Conference, Noon EST, 4/6/02
self | Saturday, April 6, 2002 | Kristinn

Posted on 04/06/2002 7:49:04 AM PST by kristinn

Live from Crawford, Texas, it's the George and Tony show.

Will George slap Bill and Yasser around again like he did last night? Will Tony come off as George's toy poodle? Will the press be their usual boorish selves ? Is Helen Thomas there ?

The answer to these and other questions will be answered at Noon eastern time.

" What shall we do? Lie down and die because the lefties have made a mess of this nation? No, we must crush the terrorists, and we must crush the ideas that led our nation to open itself to mass murder. " -- MoscowMike

Our nation is based upon the greatest framework of mankind's history. Within our nation, we have little crime. Yet, YOU believe in a government that will dispense of national tragedy; you believe in something that I can't understand. Help me. I want to know about your concepts.

Can you imagine living a life where you cannot see good, even when it is right in front of your face?

Yikes, call me a cockeyed optimist, but I really like the tax cut, and with a son in the military,
I really like the increased respect and funding for our military and national defense,
and I really like the President's hardline stance against Kyoto and UN taxing,
and I really like the steady movement away from abortion, declaring that a human embryo is a life, and stopping funding overseas for abortions,
and I really like that the President is calling for the end of the if-it-feels-good-do-it mentality, and a return to an era of personal responsiblity, marriage and family, and his message that teenagers are capable of making right choices and not being ruled by their hormonal impulses,
and I really like having a competant no-nonsense man in charge of fighting a war on terror, and protecting Americans at home.

Yikes, why can't I see that there is nothing good happening in America?!
Oh, yeah.....I'm just a government tick in LA LA Land! That's why I'm so happy! :o)

I agree with some who have said that the President delayed sending Powell to give the Israeli's time to FINISH THE JOB. Since the suicide bombings have stopped for now, I believe the IDF is doing a great job.

Bravo to you, too! BTW, how did you do on your taxes? Allowing for the $600 we got last year as going towards this year's refund, we ended up getting a few hundred more back than we did last year.

I assume that reply made sense to you.

In which case I will ask, what is your drug of choice today? And which country sans government do you prefer to live in? How about Somalia? It should suit your interests just fine..... no cockroaches in your bedroom, or whatever it is you don't want.

What does it mean to you to be an American anyway?

I've been wondering the same thing after reading Buckeroo's posts myself...so far I think his (??) points have been:

Libertarian ?? Buchannon supporter ?? Disruptor ??

Buckeroo, I find myself wondering if you really understand what the cost of Freedom means -- or what it would be like to live in a society that does not allow personal freedoms. Where in the world is there a better system to live under? France ? China ? Iraq ? Do you have any idea how difficult it will be to find solutions to all these horrid "problems" you've outlined here ? Don't you think the President is trying, but perhaps knows just a little more about how to get things done ?

FOFL. Good Lord, Buckeroo, get a grip, take a break, read a book. Better still try rereading one that clearly shaped your outlook.
""The sky is falling.
I saw it with my eyes.
I heard it with my ears.
Some of it fell on my tail."

Sound familiar ? The sky wasn't really falling. A seed fell from a tree striking Chicken Little's tail. Sweet, well meaning Chicken Little scared the whole community and they raced straight into Foxy Loxy's den. Chicken Little's hysterics became a self-fulfilling prophecy

Well, we have 4 kids, two in out of state private colleges and two in high school, so our tax refund went right to the college fund.

And since xlinton, algore and company consider us to be 'filthy rich', our taxes went through the roof over the eight darkside years, as our deductions for dependent children went down. No matter what was withheld, we always ended up paying in April...........my husband waits until midnight of the Ides of April to go to the Post Office and mail it in.

This year, we are paying 75% less, thank you George W. Bush, and next year it will be even better. For some silly reason, this makes me happy! :o)

My immediate thought is that government is here to help you. Good luck.

I don't know when I have enjoyed a thread debate as much as this one. Keep going, I think Mr. Buckeroo is starting to get more specific, more interesting. I will answer his question about why we are the world's policeman. Because no one else can. I honestly believe that living in the greatest country in the world carries the greatest responsibility. We have been given the most precious gift ever - Freedom. In order to keep it, we must fight for it. We have been called upon to sacrifice much for our freedom. I believe we should answer the call. Thank God for President Bush.

Go start your own thread - or better yet - start your own web site!! You're entitled to your opinion, we just don't like having it thrown in our face. And ... since you did not vote for Bush (?) and you're still a "go Pat go" person - get lost!!
