I don't know where anything is anymore!
Where are the sidebars?

I guess I just didn't think about it, since there haven't been a real lot of good threads about the stuff he posted lately.

What the heck! Bring back "Find in Forum"...PLEASE????That was an incredibly useful feature. :( Oh, and could we bring back Debo21, A Whitewater Researcher and Big Ezy too? I liked Coyote, I want him back in this new forum.
What a group of negative foooools. Cheer up folks.

Actually, I've been checking it out for 1/2 hour. It's really pretty Nice!! To get back your sidebars, click on "Topics" in the upper RH corner, selcet the topic that you want like Breaking News, go over to the left side of the screen right under the "Flag" and click subscribe. That's it. All kinds of other neat stuff too. Try it, you'll like it!

I am voting for classic Coke here too. No need to mess with a winning formula. Bring back the sidebars please. I read and post at a varity of places on the net and I don't have time to dig through all the stories. And if the only way there is going to be stories in the sidebar is for me to put them there, there is never going to be stories there.

This remeinds me of some Govment Burrycrat making changes to justify his job. " Oh look at all the changes and now you know how much I'm needed around here"

And grasshopper, snatch the pebble from his hand. How could such a flexible guy, who obviously doesn't resort to having a stroke or contemplate doing himself in because something familiar has changed, have thirteen million ex-wives? Is there no justice in this crummy world?

I just found it. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/finduser How did you find that link, in the new format?

Is there no justice in this crummy world? It comes and goes.

Well, give it a few weeks and you'll (probably) find it's better. Site changes
always seem horrible and confusing at first, and they always meet with widespread disapproval, especially from frequent visitors.
It's the fate of web designers everywhere: people keep saying, "You know, you should add this and this and then why not change this feature?" and eventually, since they seem like good suggestions, the designer implements them, and only after much consideration, planning and testing; and then the howls of protest roll in. I agree, though - it's weird at first.

This is one of the few (if any) times I disagree with you, lass. This new format sucks. I'm going back to bed. I have a stress induced headache.
To: Nogbad
I agree with you! Yuck -- the new design is bland and somehow soul-less. I miss the old FR.

If you were around in 1998, you would remember the same threads running whenever the format changed. Remember, a lot of people said the OLD format sucked when it was new.
To: Nogbad
For many of us who must use bifocals, the new print is much too small and therefore difficult to read.
Also, the new layout is not as consistent as the previous one. It's now difficult to follow (again, this can be a problem for those of us who use bifocals.)
Thanks.

This one doesn't cost more because the graphics are kept on your PC after the first load (which is true of all websites).

I think I just sent you a FReep mail - I'm not sure anymore.
Check this out.
Fair Warning. The interface and URLs for Freepmail WILL CHANGE in the near future.
Your mail is the next thing that will go down the tube!!
