Katie was very GENTLE with Rusty and family. Dateline last night said that Rusty was a football star and Homecoming King in highschool, as well as Andrea being Valedictorian and swimteam captain. I'm sure the groupies are after Rusty already, a guy I view with contempt.

HER family was on ABC! I didn't realize HIS was on the Today Show... interesting... battling stations.....

Her family said some interesting things about him, including that he was not sympathetic to her problems and something about him not ever changing diapers......

This is a PR move by Russel's lawyers, in preparation for the huge lawsuit he is about to file.

Andrea will come back into the picture at the testimony level, and the kids will too at some point...ONLY in order to strengthen the Russel's manufactured image as an 'innocent' victim. Practically a martyr, even.

I know I sound cold blooded, but this is the pattern that Russel, his lawyers, and even his side of the family seem to be forming right now.

This doesn't sound like it's about murdered children. It sounds like it's about money.

Pretty boy Lauer was fishing for the 3 women jurors to slip and say Andrea Yates was insane. They stuck to their guns, though. All of them maintained their decision that she knew right from wrong and was responsible for the murders.

From the first time Rusty Yates stood before the cameras I read one thing in his demeanor: mission accomplished. The news quoted him as saying he might remarry and try to have more children and we are not in the least suprised. Rusty is a disgusting megalomaniac. Where's the Angel of Death when you need him?

Rusty Yates is not going to shut his trap until he gets rich and famous enough to do the Super Bowl half-time gig with Bono and U2.

Keep watching Rusty, every time he goes on camera a new little slice of him peeks out to the public. And he will be on camera a lot. He has been chomping at the bit to be on camera. He was pissed about the gag order during the trial. But he went on 60 minutes anyway.

Maybe they should ask him some direct questions when he is on TV? Just to put aside the "rumors"? Questions like: Was Rusty really out partying a week after the deaths? Did he usually not let the kids and the mom speak in public? Did they have to stay in the house when he was not at home and usually stay inside when he was? Did he really not ever lift a finger to do anything at home? Did Rusty ask one of his friends at NASA to email other employees about helping him buy new furniture for the house? Did Rusty have a little something on the side? Did he have a hand in scripting the "multi-media" presentation at the kids funeral? Even to the point that the caskets were closed on cue?

Nothing excuses what that woman did to those kids. Nothing. But something stinks here. And has from the get-go.

The Rusty Yates gameplan is simple and clear. First, go on national news programs to present "your side" of the story. Continue to profess support for your "sick" wife while negotiating a big film and book contract. Justify those deals by stating a need to "tell the story honestly and accurately." Go on another media tour to promote your book and film. Pocket seven-figure checks from your publisher and a Hollywood studio.

Then, once the book and film are finished, quietly announce plans to divorce Andrea. Follow that up with your wedding announcement, complete with a People magazine cover story on the "woman who helped me through my darkest hour/gave me a reason to live, etc. Then, live the rest of your life in luxury, appearing on TV occasionally as an "expert" in cases where mothers kill their children.

Andrea Yates is a murderer, but her husband is a criminal in his own right. It's a shame he'll never be prosecuted and (instead) will actually profit from his family's tragedy.

I can't stand this Rusty...he is a LIAR....he is so dissappointed that she didn't get the death sentence...I heard he said he didnt' know if he would divorce Andrea...OF COURSE HE WIll....it will cost him now though and he will look bad.

He is a slimy snake...and heis to blame for this too. He never helped Andrea.

I heard him read a letter that ANdrea wrote describing how wonderful each of the kids was....WELL...HELLO..if they were so wonderful why did she kill them? IF she was A BAD MOTHER...why didn't she just kill herself? This is SO TWISTED!

I could not stomach watching the man, so I changed the channel to GMA. Interestingly enough, her family was on there at the same time!
They are extremely critical of Rusty, saying he ruled Andrea, said that a woman's place was in the home, never changed a diaper until the 4th child was born etc.
They clearly detest him!

Most disgusting to me, is that with all that is going on in the world, including the war, and the problems in the middle east, this is the lead headline and story on Today! Sheesh!
