~Fox Valley Get-Together~

Okay Wisconsin FReepers!

I have FINALLY gotten around to gearing up for the ~Fox Valley Get-Together~!
The date is April 13th, which is a SATURDAY.
The bar will be open at 5PM; Dinner will take place at 7PM.

The venue will be the Prime Quarter Steakhouse in Appleton. Dress is casual; cost, determined on a banquet basis (including one non-alcoholic beverage and gratuity) is $16.85 per person for adults. That's if we get 30 people or more. Otherwise it's $14.95 just for the meal, beverage and gratuity not included.

They have a well-stocked bar on the premises. That's extra.

What the Prime Quarter is: a grill-your-own steakhouse - steaks of all kinds, plus there's fish to grill for those who don't eat beef. Sorry, it's NOT a vegetarian-friendly place. You grill at one of 3 open charcoal-fired pits and make as much Texas Toast as you like, plus unlimited salad bar.

If you cannot grill-your-own, or prefer not to, for a couple bucks more a server will do it for you, but no guarantee on the degree of doneness.

How to find the Prime Quarter:

coming from the SOUTH: Rt. 41, exit at College Ave. turn right on College, then make a left at the FIRST signal. That's Westhill Boulevard. Prime Quarter's on the right a couple blocks.

From the NORTH: Rt. 41 to College Ave. exit, turn left onto College. Turn left at the FIRST signal. That's Westhill Boulevard. Prime Quarter's on the right a couple blocks.

From the WEST: Head into Appleton by way of Rt. 10, and stay straight on Rt. 96 when 10 turns right. Follow 96 (Wisconsin Avenue) under Hwy 41, then turn right at the next signal. That will be Westhill Blvd. Prime Quarter will be on your left a few blocks.

From the EAST: following Rt. 10, go as far as Kaukauna. Turn right on Rt. 55. Go north until you reach Hwy. CE. It has a signal. Turn left onto CE and follow it all the way into Appleton, where it becomes College Ave. Continue through downtown, then over the railyard bridge. You will pass Lynndale Ave., then Bluemound Dr. The next signal is Westhill Blvd. Turn right. Prime Quarter will be on your right a couple of blocks.

I can email a map to anyone who needs; or go to http://www.mapquest.com and enter 500 Westhill Blvd, Appleton, WI in the address data fields on the left side of the screen.

I will put up a vanity post and reiterate info on the
~Fox Valley Get-Together~ if needed.

Get ready to have fun!

I need your reservations as soon as you can get them in!

I am having nametags made - if you have one from the last meeting, bring it (and tell me in advance, please).

There will be a PING for those who haven't contacted me. I'll be a real pest about this because I HAVE to arrange stuff in advance. Please FReepmail me with your plans to attend, or your regrets. Don't be shy; ask me for details if I've forgotten anything.

R.S.V.P.!

Sorry, Petunia, I can't make it. We've got a family wedding to go to, way on the other side of the state. I thought I had *something* on that day.

And I know you'll have a thread about the get together, just to make me envious.

I would love to attend, but the 3rd distrct Republicans are holding their Caucus on April 13th. I'm a delegate, so unfortunately I can't make it.

I'd like to hear from you! Even if it's just a "maybe". I need the headcount soon.

"He who snoozes, loses."

If you've already contacted me and you get this PING, please re-FReepmail me.

FReepmail details if you can attend; post your regrets in this thread if you cannot.

Thanks!

Sheesh. Now I have to check my calendar. My hubby and I are delegates to our District caucus, and I don't remember the date.

Thanks for the invite, but unfortunately, I have to work that day. We're pretty shorthanded as it is, so I know I won't be able to get off for it. :(

Hope the rest of you have a great time though! Let us know how it goes...

Thanks for the ping, petunia. Sorry I'm late in rsvping, but was waiting to see if things would work out. Doesn't look like they will, so consider this my DEEP REGRETS. Hope you all have a wonderful time.

Mozart - is that a Bette Midler tune, or did she just cover it?

She covered it. It's a Cole Porter tune, originally recorded by the Cab Calloway orchestra.

As I hope you are already aware, WIladyconservative and I will be there with bells on. I'd offer the back seat to somebody, but we're going to stay the night and make it a weekend without "The Mouth." Grandpa and Grandma have graciously offered to take "The Mouth" overnight.

Thank you Grandpa and Grandma.

I'm the one making the name tags, so if this is your first FREEP gathering, let me know and I'll whip one up for you. Those of you who attended our SE Wisconsin gathering in November, I hope you kept your name tags!! (wagging my finger at you)

If not, or if you're new, FREEPmail me with your screen name and real life name so we can put faces and names together. I'll need all the names by April 12th so as to get them done in time.

I'm anxious to see old friends and meet new ones.
