"Grayout seems more and more like blackout."

Right!

. . .incredible these Dems (why do I say that. . .they are above nothing. . .)now trying to escape responsibility for their own bad judgements place blame for their energy fiasco on Enron.

Why ask why. . .when it comes to the 'rats' we know why. . .

Oh, I love it when Gray Davis gets boxed in a corner.

Davis said Lay urged him to require electricity customers to pay the record wholesale prices being charged in late 2000 and last year.

Maybe I'm missing something here. Lay urged Davis to require the users of electricity to pay for what they used? And Davis didn't take this advice? No wonder the state is in the whole for $14 Billion.

I believe the California crisis is to blame for Enron's woes.

Blame Gray Davis and the other California enemies of capitalism.

Here's a different take on the Enron fiasco that I'm sure a number of FReepers will get. Substitute the name "Amway" for "Enron", subsitute the name "Dexter Yager" for "CEO Lay" and substitute the word "distributors" for "employees and non-preferred stock shareholders". Now do you get it?

but said that he ignored his advice.

Yeh right. I'm sure he ignored a political payoff in the making.
Somehow, I just don't believe the guy. He's too shady.
If Clinton urged the meeting, we know it wasn't for the benefit of the consumers.

Secretary of State Bill Jones reiterated his demand that Davis return Enron campaign donations. Since 1996, Davis has received $119,500 from Enron, including $42,500 since becoming governor. Davis has said he will not return any money, but adds he no longer accepts campaign contributions from energy brokers or generators.

Oh, My!!!! I wonder if Congressman Waxman is investigating improper influence peddling at the Sacramento Capitol?? Opps, I forgot, politics requires democrats to be guilty of nothing and only Republicans are to be either (both) found guilty of crimes or made to appear guilty (when they are not). Yes, Enron isn't about corrupt accountants, a corrupt company trying to buy influence and having some politicians being bought, and other politicians just smiling and taking the money, but not offering anything in exchange. This is about Democrats thinking that they have a campaign issue that will stick. (/sarcasm)

Earnest, thanks for the heads up on this one. I have to go back to the Super Bowl now.
