Well, I think I should finally write something about myself.
Currently, I am:
- Married to the most beautiful woman in the world.
- A father to the two treasures of my life (one daughter, one son).
- A student at the most prestigous aviation university in the U.S. It is a very enlightening experience not just because I am being given the opportunity to pursue my dream to become a professional pilot, but because this particular institute is a bastion of conservative and analytic thought. The vast majority of the professors are ex-military and for students of military history you've probably read about them in books. In addition, 95% of the males on campus keep their hair short and use such anachronistic - at least to the left - replies such as "yes, sir" and "no, sir." Truly a remarkable place.
- An officer and a gentleman - I still subscribe to that particular lost standing - in the U.S. Army Reserve where I serve as an operations officer for a Transportation Brigade.
- A somewhat proficient computer geek. My former life which I am desperately trying to shed.
- As of December 22, 2001 I am a private pilot with all the privleges associated with that rating. I think of this as my "license to learn."
- July 8, 2002: I am now instrument rated. It was by far one of the most difficult and humbling things I've ever done ;
- September 17, 2002: Completed the Part 141 End of Course checkrides for my Commercial Pilot's License. Next up is the FAA checkride which will give me the privileges of a Commercial Pilot.
