Vanity Post on Vanity Posts, Duplicate Posts, Trash Posts, Commie Propaganda, etc., Vol V, No. 1
Free Republic | Jan 25, 2002 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 01/25/2002 9:38:23 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.

And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?

And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.

And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.

Thanks,

Jim

Helix is right. There are plenty of pray request threads on FR and I haven't seen the others attacked. I love animals also and know the pain of losing a pet. There are plenty of us our here praying for both you and Jesse. Please keep us posted as to her condition. Hope you don't leave us.

Some cross the line and use policy disagreements as platform to trash Republicans. That's wrong. It's a fine line, but not one that can't be called. Always best to stay on the right side.

What is wrong with that? Jim Robinson clearly stated that debate about policies is fair game. However, bashing a conservative without some constructive effort to promote conservatism is wrong. Surely you are not criticizing his post # 79, are you?

Having said that, the fact that Jim hasn't deleted your thread, leaves me no hope that the vanity problem on FR will ever be cured. I'm sorry Jim but if you don't deal with this kind of thread, your commitment to ridding FR of trash and vanities is questionable.

Well said!

Hi Don Joe...please don't go. I'd much rather read things like the post on your cat then some of the hatred spewed by some of my fellow freepers. Some of them are so full of hate and so misguided in their anger at some people that I wonder if they ever have a happy day. Don't let them take over our site. How is your cat doing?? I have 2 inside cats and more outside "strangers" that I feed then I care to admit to. Good luck with her and hang around here. You have more people on your side then you think.

Get a life!! And a heart while you're at it. I don't remember electing you my watchdog about what I care to read about!! If you don't like it create your own site!! Then you can eliminate all feeling and caring for your fellow citizens.

What we have in America is not a true Democracy, but a Representative Republic. In my opinion, it is a better and more efficient form of Democracy that is designed to grow and change with the needs of the people but not jump to every whim. My problem with the libertarians is that they think more in the line of a democracy...

I cannot speak for other Libertarians, but only for myself! Your perceptions are completely opposite to mine. Our country was founded as a Constitutional Republic, but has shifted into operating as a communal democracy, where the tyranny of the majority reigns supreme. Moreover, the loss of individual Rights in exchange for government granted privileges are emblematic of this shift.

My problem with the libertarians is that they think more in the line of a democracy. One man, one vote. Anything else is unfair and un-constitutional.

Not so! It is the Libertarians who adhere to the concept of Rights that cannot be removed by a vote of 51%, or 99%, or 100% of the electorate. For example, 99% of the voters cannot vote to remove your Right to life and 99% cannot vote to remove your Right to your property or cannot take your actual property. The Libertarians I know are all strict Constitutionalists who support individual Rights -- Rights that were endowed by our Creator and that preceded the formation of the government.

They [Libertarians] only critisize and offer no solution except the Constitution and the BofR.

That's where the answers are! That happens to be the Supreme Law of the Land! Would you rather look to Hillary Clinton for solutions, or Trent Lott, or 51% of the voters? On what set of principles do you look to find solutions? What is wrong with the Constitution and Bill of Rights? It happens to be the document that has afforded this country the greatest freedom and prosperity in the history of human civilization. If we don't respect and revere that document, we will surely lose the remainder of our freedoms.

I haven't seen the thread about the imaginary dog. If it does exist I agree it should be deleted and I am surprised it has not been. However, there is a huge difference between a beloved pet and an imaginary dog. If you don't understand that I pity you.

There is a daily thread on FR right now, which every day discuses the bowel habits of an imaginary dog.

Will you please either bump me to that thread or freepmail the link to me? Thanks.

There is a daily thread on FR right now, which every day discuses the bowel habits of an imaginary dog. This imaginary dog seems to be very important to the people on this thread, so if someone can ask for prayers for their cat at FR, why can these people not ask for prayers for the constipation problems of their imaginary dog. I am fully expecting it to happen, if Jim doesn't act.

The bowel habits of the "imaginary dog" are just as interesting as the so called 'Read My Poem' vanities.

Hello, cote.
