This is pure horsesh*t.
Where did the Tallywhackers get five thousand guys and 450 apcs? What happens to five thousand Tallywhackers and 450 apcs when the Spectre gets on station?
Drudge be reading too much DEBKA!
Stop drinking the bong water, Matt.

That's what I thought too, what good are tanks anyway? We just sit back and blow them to pieces from the air before we move in.

I seriously doubt that they are locked in combat with US forces. I suspect that they are actually cowering in fear amongst the civilians in the area.
I wouldn't be surprised at the numbers of troops. I suspect the number of armored vehicles is probably exaggerated.

Oh, I seeeeeeee! The clan leaders want a payoff.
Well hells bells, I don't have a problem with that. It's Afghanistan. Business is business.

Don't sweat it. It was only posted one other time, as far as I can see.

lol...450 tanks? Puleeze, Matt.
Maybe 450 tank parts.

yes, that is the deal. they are cowering in fear amongst the civilians, 'negotiating' with the US forces. (they want millions of dollars and amnesty) we dont want to attack them because of the civilians. thats how the article goes anyway

How in the HELL could 450 teanks etc get out of flat land Kandahar without notice....? SOMETHING does not add up here.

That would be an amazing number of tanks for a place like Afghanistan. I saw an earlier report that mentioned, quote, "450 tanks and other vehicles." Probably some overwrought reporter fixated on "tanks" and missed the "other vehicles." My guess is a few tanks and a lot of goat carts.

(From the linked thread above---^)
In tough negotiations with American forces, leaders of the renegade army in Ghazni are demanding millions of dollars and the guarantee of an amnesty before they will give up their arms.
Bwahahaha! That right there is a sure sign this article is krup (as they say...somewhere). I don't believe, and can't imagine we'd be negotiating with these doods..."Keep yer arms, we're aiming for yer heads!"
