My sincere sympathy goes to the judge...I hope she throws the ( divorce ) BOOK at her slimeball of a "husband". I have as much sympathy for her as i have for him.....no more....no less....See post 112

This is a federal judge and sorry, but in my humble opinon this does not reflect well on her abilities to make character assessments and to pass sound judgments. If you read the story, it says that they've been married for 20 years, whereas she's been a judge for a year. So her judgment (good or ill) about husband is a judgment she made 20 years ago, not today. People change over 20 years as well -- you know, mid-life crises and all that.

Ever hear of a group called the Log Cabin Republicans? What do you suppose the "Log" part refers to? Ugh! And what about the "cabin"?

Four were arrested for "soliciting" out in front. It is across the street from a park described as a main recreational area for area youth.
Bet there's been some complaints of harrassing park users. I am amazed they don't zone this store off to an industrial area.

A man gets caught with C4 plastic explosives in his own private sneakers. He is judged before a woman whose husband was caught with his pants down with six other men. Who's there in this scenario for a libertarian to sneer and scoff at? Ah, the stewardess who wouldn't mind her own bidness, and the police for busting into a public theater to hassle those engaged in consensual albeit deadly behaviors! They must think the right to life is inalienable, or something! Sheesh!

"I have as much sympathy for her as i have for him.....no more....no less....See post 112"While post #112 is a credible co-dependence scenario, it totally leaves out the possibility that the husband was just another out of millions who successfully lead double lives - until caught.
The idea that the two of them could have been living for years in an empty marriage and she simply wasn't paying enough attention to catch behaviors which could have warned her of her husband's...err...sick hobby...is equally plausible.
I know knothing about the political affiliation, past rulings or whather the judge herself has been caught up in any scandals of her own. Therefore, undil I have information which indicates my sympathy is misplaced, I have room for sympathy in my heart for this woman, who's marriage, and possibly career aspirations, has just been destroyed.

Is it possible that he was "outed" so as to prevent her from being blackmailed into ruling in ways that would be a detriment to the trial proceedings?

Yes, very interesting. The Judge is dealing with someone who wants to see people blown up, and someone who wants to see people blown.

Didn't the police realize this was simply the local montly meeting of the DNC?

Interesting idea. I wonder who would be doing the blackmailing. And is homosexuality still something that you can effectively blackmail people for?
To: aristeides
I can't even begin to imagine the shame of the judge herself since she probably was not even aware that her husband was living a double life. Who knows what evidence could have been gathered by the shoe-bombers investigation team. I am speculating that perhaps there was a concern that the information could have been used by the defendants team to blackmail her. And so, the situation was defused.

The hypocrisy of it all, decries the Cato Institution! The husband of the judge is out and about committing a form of murder known as 'sodomy' since it destroys both the soul and the body, and there's the judge persecuting people for the mere action of supplying para-doctors with their own personal self-prescribed nunya-bidness medicines!

Pants down? Public sex activity? Well, now isn't this the courtship
phase, the prelude to "civil unions," don't you know? (sarcasm off)
