Interesting idea. I wonder who would be doing the blackmailing. And is homosexuality still something that you can effectively blackmail people for?

I can't even begin to imagine the shame of the judge herself since she probably was not even aware that her husband was living a double life. Who knows what evidence could have been gathered by the shoe-bombers investigation team. I am speculating that perhaps there was a concern that the information could have been used by the defendants team to blackmail her. And so, the situation was defused.
