Unfornately the President was right and the pilot was wrong. No other press Reports at All.

This Pilot needs to be fired. AA needs to apologise and give this agent and his family a lifetime free pass.

No way!

The Captain of an airplane, the same as a ship at sea, has the final say-so.

The Pilot did the right thing.

The pilot was right and the President was wrong. If we had profiling on Sept. 11th the entire catastrophe might have been averted and 6,000 Americans wouldn't be dead. If avoiding hurting people's feelings is more important than saving lives we won't have learned the lesson of Sept 11th at all. Sure he may have been wrongly kept off the plane but at the time the pilot made the right decision and the plane reached its destination. We need more profiling to avoid future Sept. 11ths.

The USSS agent needs to be fired, based on the reports we have read. He apparently cares more about his own wounded pride than in service to his nation or to the POTUS. The liberals are just going to have to lump it. How many lives would YOU be willing to offer upon the altar of Political Correctness?

Apparently the agent incorrectly filled out paperwork for carrying the gun a total of three times - twice after being asked to correct it. If you were the captain, would you let such a person on your plane?

Bill Press is a liberal idiot. He probably gets to fly on corporate jets, and doesn't have to worry about terrorists who fly with the common folk in the cattle cars. If the elite had to live like the rest of us, they might have more common sense.

It's not the color of the skin that bothers me, it's the thinness.

The captain has the right ultimate responsibility to not fly when he feels it's unsafe...

Also, if the pilot suspected it to be a "test" and that if he allowed the guy on, he would be reprimanded, including the possibility of being relieved, then he was correct. The decision on the firing would be for sure rather than a bunch of idiotic blathering from the peanut gallery.

The USSS Presidential Detail is composed of the best of the best. If someone claiming to be a member of the Presidential Detail failed to fill out a form properly THREE times and then lost his temper because someone was insisting on checking out his credentials, I'd be awfully suspicious too. Hardly professional behavior from someone whose job requires cool thinking in a chaotic situation, hmmmmm?

Face it, the captain was right, and the more we learn about this the more it looks like this agent was not cut out for his job. He'd be happier in some other post, guarding the president requires the cream of the crop, not someone who doesn't know how to act when confronted with a problem. BTW, what kind of USSS agent has no reguard for thoroughly checking out someone's identity?

Even though the Secret Service agent has admitted to not filling out the identification paperwork properly..not just once, but twice? Sorry. The pilot was presented with bad paperwork and an attitude. Had the Secret Service agent presented himself in a professional manner, then maybe you could fault the pilot.

First of all, the pilot, and anyone else with good sense, should be using that "ee-vil" profiling technique. But, it doesn't take profiling to recognize an uncooperative person with a weapon, who doesn't want to follow procedure. Nor does it take much good sense to see what a crybaby the guy has become, and to recognize the possibility that the entire incident was contrived for a lawsuit and 15 minutes of fame. The agent should lose his job for unprofessional conduct.

Bush may not even have had full details. I'd guess that he was just giving a CYA answer, to placate all the hand-wringers like Bill Press. No big. That's politics, as we have made it.

Ok, ask yourself this question. Would this agent be remiss in his duties if he allowed a person to get close to the president with a loaded revolver using the same level of doubt he was expecting AA to accept?

The agent filled the form out incorrectly three times...each time including information that conflicted with information on previous forms. If this---nervous and abusive---agent couldn't keep his story straight, how can anyone find fault with the pilot's decision? I'd fire the pilot if he had let him on the flight.

As someone who's husband flies on this airline on a weekly basis, I for one thank God for this pilot's actions. I think he should be commended for what he did.

Forget the paperwork...who fills out paper work exactly right anyway? The pilot was wrong, because he had the easy opportunity to call the White House to check the agent's story out... It's also true that if the pilot thought he was a fraud, the pilot was negligent in NOT calling the White House in order to keep the folks in the Airport safe... Clearly AmAir and the pilot should appologize and move on...

America cannot be and surely should never be a country which stubbornly asks, "your papahs pleez" and when they aren't totally right shouts, "verbotten!!!" Common sense should rule and it sure didn't here....

The airline captain and the Secret Service agent should bury the hatchet and join forces to cancel Press's reservation!

Secret Service guy had a chip on his shoulder and an attitude. To think that the pilot was a racist Arab hater is a ridiculous stupid assanine leap of leftist logic. Bulls$#t. GW is wrong.

Yes.

The President keeps this armed agent by his side, but unAmerican won't even let him on their plane.

One other aspect of this that's pretty tawdry ; American operates their hub from Fort Worth. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram publishes the agent's name, against his wishes, but suppresses the name of the pilot.

That stinks.
