Now Talent is running against Jean Carnahan, who is by all accounts an extraordinarily weak candidate.

I will NOT be lulled into thinking that Carnahan is a weak candidate. Missouri's political life is too full of surprises.

Talent Bump...(and I thought FreeRepublic fundraisers were demanding)

This is THE most important thing for us to accomplish in 2002, bar none.

That fact has been obvious for a long time, but time has run out...it will be November before we know it. In addition, the primaries are only short months away...and there are many matchups between RINOs and Conservatives.

It is time for the manifold gifts of FReepers to be put into the arena...let's roll, people.

Send a check to Congress' Greg Ganske who represents Des Moines, Iowa. He's running against a warhorse of the left, Tom Harkin. Ganske's a surgeon and a moderate Republican who can win in a statewide race. Make the check out to Ganske for Senate and send it to 1200 Grand Avenue, West Des Moines, IA 50265, or contribute online.

This is a glaring error.

Ganske is a RINO extrordinaire...he voted with Clinton as much as he voted with the Republican Caucus. The Iowa GOP has run moderate Congressmen against Harkin over and over again...without success.

Bill Salier is running against Ganske in the primary...Bill is a solid Christian man, cutting edge conservative, Marine, farmer...he is charismatic and driven by principle. He also has the hearts of the grassroots of the Iowa GOP...the powers that be had better be ready for a big shocker.

I know all of these folks very well...7 years ago I wrote the book on Commie Tommy Harkin...literally. He is THE most liberal member of the U.S. Senate.

Anyway, Hugh...don't promote Ganske...at least until and if he wins the primary. Bill Salier is the guy who represents the principles you espouse.

GO BILL GO!!

I agree with a large proportion of the piece...we absolutely need a regional sweep in the upper Midwest...defeating Johnson, Wellstone, Harkin and Carnahan are the keys to this thing.

The extreme partisanship displayed by Daschle's gang would be repellent in any year, but it is alarming during wartime.

All Daschle Democrats (obstructionists) need to be defeated.

I won't send good hard earned money to Ganske ,was'nt he the one siding with the Democrats on of the Bills just a few short months ago. I heard in chat that Russert claims there are no vulnerable Democratic candidates.Keep saying that to the sheeple Timmy....hehe.

Contributions to the National Republican Senatorial Committee or the National Republican Congressional Committee are a waste of money. They've both left good candidates hanging out to dry in close races.

Seek out individual candidates you like, do your homework, and send contributions accordingly.

I'll send them all a check with the exception of Ganske and perhaps Coleman. Ganske would just be another Jeffords and my impression of Coleman is he might be the same but I'm not sure. I would appreciate guidance from any Minnesota freepers.

Usama Bin Laden may be the "Goat of the Year", but I see him more as the "Pig of the Year". And you can quote me on that too!

Coleman for Senate. Norm Coleman recently retired as Mayor of St. Paul, and he's running against hyper-lefty Paul Wellstone.

The question I have about Norm is, does he have the fire in the belly for this race? If his campaign fo governor is any indication I'd have to say no. He took a page from Bob Doles campaign and ran an "Hi I'm Norm Coleman and it's my turn, besides I'm a nice guy" campaign. I must admit to a certain negative reaction to "anointed" candidates.

ps hey hey ho ho Paul Wellstone has got to go!

Bump up for bux.

Victories in all these races would be great. For this South Dakotan defeating Tim Johnson in spite of Tom Daschle (pronounced - Tom D'Asch Hole - say it fast) would be a shot across the bow that would really be worth savoring.

So a bump for John Thune especially.

the pubbies will not be re-taking california higher offices without asians and latinos.

the hatred of immigrants on fr, expressed daily, doesn't help.

therefore, expect california to stay dem.

This is what I have always liked about Hugh: he talks in specifics, not generalities. Getting on the radio every day and yelling that the Democrats stink is one thing. Giving us directions for how we can affect change is another.

Landrieu has got to go. Does anyone know how Cooksey is doing in his campaign? Are people up or down on him for the "If you have a diaper on your head, and a fanbelt tied around the diaper, you're going to get profiled," comment?
