Zogby blamed a "steady diet of anti-Arab information" for the swing in public opinion, saying that "those who are seeking to disrupt and discredit the relationship are working overtime."

Yes, there's nothing like the hi-jacked 767 diet, followed by arrogant Saudi princes and the lack of muslim outrage over terrorist attacks. You lose weight quickly when a terrorist muslim comes around. And it's all from people calling themselves muslim. Why can't the idiots understand that and clean up their own house?

arabs always complain that Americans are ignorant (because we don't agree with them). Check out this recent cartoon from arabnews.com. Well... we are educated now. Now wonder support for arabs dropped:

There's the problem. Zogby shows he's just a lefty concerned with "representation" of and "perception" about other nations, rather than facts. I can't explain Egypt, but as for Saudi Arabia, is the "anti-Arab" information reasoned analysis and revealing of facts about their education system, their real beliefs, suppression of women and religion, etc. etc.? I had thought Zogby was more reasoned (relatively). Shows himself just to be another left-reactionary playing a kind of "race card." His statements mean, in other words, Americans are dupes and stupid. It's all a language game with them. Any statement about any country is a threat to all and must be countered with insults and insinuations about conspiracies. Now, according to Zogby, the conspiracies are working "overtime." He's delusional.

Actually the average American is more informed about the mid-east than any "western" people I've met. Note that "61 percent of respondents saying that the Israelis and Palestinians were equally to blame", certainly a snetiment one doesn't find much at FR. :)

I note that Israelis were not celebrating the attacks on Sept 11, 2001. Does anyone think maybe that those celebrations in Arab nations have anything to do with Americans disdain for the these desert tribes?

Nah, the Arabs think it is a conspiracy.

Arab American groups have called the results "shocking," saying that the figures show a dramatic shift in Americans' attitude toward the Arab world.

What is shocking is that it took the murder of over 3,000 Americans and the destruction of tens of billions of dollars of property, plus a nice recession, to open the eyes of the American public. Oh well, I guess that most people are like their grandparents - it took Pearl Harbor to wake up a good part of the public 60 years ago, so I shouldn't be too surprised.

Arab Americans are fine by me, as long as they are law-abiding and show some reasonable morality. Same, by the way, for anyone else of any ethnic or religious heritage. Those, especially clerics, who have public authority and haven't condemned outright the acts of 9/11 (or who did so very weakly due to intense pressure) are not on my "most admired" list. They can go to the Devil, along with their apologists like the Zogbys.

Who are they kidding? Did Zogby just become brain dead (again?) .... how about this bit of "biased" fact that old Zog seems to ignore:

In spite of this outright admission of guilt (referring to the recently discovered Bin Laden tapes disclosing names, timetables, plans, etc. for 9/11 tragedy), "Al-Jazeera television, bin Laden's lapdog in the Middle East, has already put an expert on the air, who only having same the tape in the past few minutes along with the rest of the world, determined miraculously that the tape is a fake and has been doctored." source
Hey Zogby! ... go move your headquarters to Kartoum or somewhere other than US of A!!

Gee, you don't suppose it has anything to do with the pictures of thousands and thousands of Arabs taking to the streets with raised fists, screaming Death to America, do you? Or maybe the interviews with students in Arab universities and members of Arab ruling bodies who think bin Laden is just a swell fellow and that American policies are to blame for 9-11? Maybe it might have something to do with the fact that the Saudies and the Egyptians have refused to furnish passanger lists like the rest of the world has done.

Arab Americans have sunk themselves with their fellow Americans by using the massacre of 9-11 to further their political agenda in the Palestinian situation. Everyone I know was disgusted with that.

The Arab world had better realize that THEY are responsible for the change in attitudes. Since they have been very vocal about hating everything we stand for, I don't understand why they care how we view them.

Hey, Zogby. Why don't you poll the Afghani's and see if they are anti-Arab. Could that be because of Al-Qaeda and Bin Laden?

For the American poll, could it be that the pollers were unduly influenced by the 4 airliners on 9-11 and the most recent shoe-bomb boy?

Support for Arabs plummets in America, opinion poll finds

That's now surpise.
What should really shock them is that general support by the US populace for Israel
has held steady, if not risen.

If the Arab/Muslim world doesn't do a "sea-change" really fast...they will find themselves
on the wrong side of history...for good.

Yes it is contrary to the expressions of some on FR. What do these Arab leaders expect? Did they think after 15 Saudis slammed jetliners into our buildings that we would have more respect for their country? The pan-arabist cabal between Saudis, Yemenis, Moroccans and Arab Expatriots in Afghanistan among others was exposed and their failure to act against it in advance revealed them to be weak minded & weak willed, and very dangerous.

The Arab heads of state are utterly obtuse. Make peace! Crack down on the radicals! End the mindless propeganda!

Israel, in complete contrast, prompted the opposite response, with 59 percent of Americans expressing positive opinions on Israel, compared to 28 percent who held negative views.
