There's the problem. Zogby shows he's just a lefty concerned with "representation" of and "perception" about other nations, rather than facts. I can't explain Egypt, but as for Saudi Arabia, is the "anti-Arab" information reasoned analysis and revealing of facts about their education system, their real beliefs, suppression of women and religion, etc. etc.? I had thought Zogby was more reasoned (relatively). Shows himself just to be another left-reactionary playing a kind of "race card." His statements mean, in other words, Americans are dupes and stupid. It's all a language game with them. Any statement about any country is a threat to all and must be countered with insults and insinuations about conspiracies. Now, according to Zogby, the conspiracies are working "overtime." He's delusional.
Actually the average American is more informed about the mid-east than any "western" people I've met. Note that "61 percent of respondents saying that the Israelis and Palestinians were equally to blame", certainly a snetiment one doesn't find much at FR. :)
I'm afraid that I seriously agree with this statement, generally speaking. And all the proof I need is this:
1. They elected Clinton
2. They elected Clinton again.
3. They almost elected Gore.
Keep in mind that numbers two and three happened after there was already ample evidence of just what kind of people these folk are.
I can't quote him precicely, but P.J. Oroarke (sp?) once wrote: Do you have a hard time understanding why the american people elect the officials they do? Well, have you seen the movies and TV they watch? Have you listened to their popular music? He11, have you been to the mall and seen 'em?
Go to the mall and "see them." Your eyes will be opened.
Can't seem to make up your mind?
61% of respondents have succumbed to Muslim/Arabprop and combined it with the pathetic combination of PC and ignorance.
If anything, this story demonstrates that the "average American" is profoundly ignorant, but never hesitant to voice his opinion.
