Thank you so much for taking the time to recognize all the good things Gov. Bush is doing to help the disabled population here in Florida. And, when his opponents wrongly claim he did nothing to help disabled people, I hope you'll remember this thread.

If such a parent -- who is willing to become a public school teacher -- is not happy with the quality of education provided by the public school, then, I have to conclude other options need to be provided. The new law signed by Governor Bush provides vouchers to these parents to explore other options.

Since Gov. Bush passed this new law in conjunction with a long list of other steps he took to support and improve the public school system, I can support this law, as I do not believe he abandoned public schools.

summer, thanks so much for the ping on this. I was totally unaware of this voucher program for kids with disabilities. My sister in law is happy with the public school my nephew is in now, but she might be interested in this when he has to go to middle school.
