DC Chapter To Help Our FRiend, Linda Tripp -- Here's How You Can Help, Too -- Thread #2

The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic will forever admire the courageous stand taken by Linda Tripp to tell the truth during the dark days of the investigation leading up to the impeachment of President Clinton. This was done at great personal sacrifice.

It is with great sadness and concern that we learned recently that, while others have profited handsomely from their criminal acts during the Clinton era, Linda Tripp has been nearly bankrupted and is facing foreclosure on her home. She was fired from her government job by Bill Clinton on the last day of his term. Her attempts to find another position in her field at the George C. Marshall Center in Germany were sabotaged by a leak to the press.

Since then, according to press reports, Linda has not been able to find work commensurate with her experience. We believe that this is because she is considered radioactive as a result of her reputation for telling the truth and not going along with the business-as-usual practices of those who do work with the Federal Government.

According to press reports, actions leading to foreclosure on Linda's home in Columbia, Maryland, have commenced. She had been renting the home out while staying with friends but it has recently been without tenants.

Members of the D.C. Chapter are stepping forward to help Linda in her time of need. We want her to have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you would like to share the D.C. Chapter's efforts as we give a hand up to a FRiend, here's how you can do so:

Send a check or money order payable to Linda Tripp. Please send it c/o David K. Colapinto, Esq., Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto, P.C., 3233 P Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20007. Mr. Colapinto will see that whatever funds are received will go directly to Linda Tripp and not to a defense fund.

Yes, my comment about nudity was totally out of character for me.  Stuff like that embarrasses me.  I try not to say the "s" word unless I just have to.

Have you ever had back problems?  How many words a minute can you type?  Is it faster than Linda Tripp?  If not, why not?  Do you Freep from work and hide it from your boss?   Is your refrigerator clean?  Do you have ceiling fans in every room?  Have your ever tried to hang drywall? What about taping and floating it?  How many kids do you have?

Bush Jr. is having a difficult time getting appointments approved by the democrat senate. Trying to get tripp a job would worsen the situation when the country should be united. You've already seen what the press tried to do Norton and Ashcroft and what they did to Chavez. There's no way the dems would allow tripp to ever get a job. And yes the dems don't care what happens to the country or anything about right or wrong, they only know about playing hard ball, anything goes politics.

That all sounds plausible and it's what I would have thought before I heard that Linda Tripp spread rumors to the press about President Bush Sr. having cheated on Barbara. That's nasty. Given the background do you think GW would want to appoint her to a job even if he could get the position approved? Do you think he should? What sort of a payscale and what sort of job?

I'm still scratching my head wondering why that would do it for you. Maybe see yourself as a jellybean, and so you get some sort of vicarious thrill imagining it's you ... a sort of "chew me!" fetish that overcomes you when you're out in public. Really, I don't want to know.
