That story aoubt Bush Senior has been repeated as fact over and over; it has also been completely debunked by none other than The Washington Post.

And, yes, Linda Tripp DID tell the story.

So she basically slandered President Bush Sr. while working as a White House staffer? Hmmm ....

Without benefit of first hand accounts, I'm relying on my memory.

Neither President Bush nor the woman in question would comment on the rumored affair. The Washington Post gave up trying to prove the affair, rather than conclude there was no 'there there'.

The rumor of an affair kicked up in 1992 after Bill Clinton was faced with credible allegations of adultery.

Linda Tripp's name was not attatched to the rumor until she became a controversial witness in the investigations into wrongdoing by President Clinton.

Are my memories wrong ?
