The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic will forever admire the courageous stand taken by Linda Tripp to tell the truth during the dark days of the investigation leading up to the impeachment of President Clinton. This was done at great personal sacrifice.

It is with great sadness and concern that we learned recently that, while others have profited handsomely from their criminal acts during the Clinton era, Linda Tripp has been nearly bankrupted and is facing foreclosure on her home. She was fired from her government job by Bill Clinton on the last day of his term. Her attempts to find another position in her field at the George C. Marshall Center in Germany were sabotaged by a leak to the press.

Since then, according to press reports, Linda has not been able to find work commensurate with her experience. We believe that this is because she is considered radioactive as a result of her reputation for telling the truth and not going along with the business-as-usual practices of those who do work with the Federal Government.

According to press reports, actions leading to foreclosure on Linda's home in Columbia, Maryland, have commenced. She had been renting the home out while staying with friends but it has recently been without tenants.

Members of the D.C. Chapter are stepping forward to help Linda in her time of need. We want her to have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you would like to share the D.C. Chapter's efforts as we give a hand up to a FRiend, here's how you can do so:

Send a check or money order payable to Linda Tripp. Please send it c/o David K. Colapinto, Esq., Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto, P.C., 3233 P Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20007. Mr. Colapinto will see that whatever funds are received will go directly to Linda Tripp and not to a defense fund.

Hey, Everyone! I left the DC Chapter Christmas get-together just a little early -- before the bill was presented. I've just learned that everyone at the party put in just a little extra to make sure there would be plenty to cover the costs of our great meal.

When all accounting was done and the generous tip included, there was $70 left over. A vote was taken and it was decided to send this amount to Linda Tripp.

You don't seem very comfortable talking about Linda Tripp. You want to change the issue? Once more, If President Bush Sr. and President Bush Jr. both had dim view of her as a person, would you regard them as unreasonable? I'm not seeing the issue here if we both agree on the facts but place different weight on the items in her plus column or on the items in her minus column. Are you thinking that there is a further issue here that we disagree about, or are you just registering your discomfort that someone might have a reasonable view that's not your own?

Not something from a FR thread, as it's obvious that some people have another agenda and feel free to post and repost erroneous information with no regard for the true facts.

I have NEVER seen anything to suggest that Linda leaked this about #41.

Please proved legitimate sources to my question. Published please.

I'd be proud to call Linda Tripp a friend. I'd give her a job in a minute if I had one to give her.

It's easy to call someone a name and be proud of it I suppose, but since Linda is none of the above, it has to be that you are talking about someone else.

FYI, Linda despite all the propaganda is not writing a book, has made zero money from her disclosures. Someday when historians without a leftist, ultra-liberal agenda will write the true story about Linda Tripps brave deeds. She will be seen as the heroine she truly is.

Assume that Mrs. Tripp had "exposed" GHWB in a way that benefited bILLclinton and that she was fired on the last day of GHWB's administration. Does anyone doubt that bILLclinton would have immediately returned her to the federal payroll? And the media would have cheered him on!! This is another example of Republicans not standing up for whistleblowers. Similarly, Attorney General Ashcroft has blocked various investigations into the illegalities of bILLclinton. Why? Is there something that the Democrats can expose regarding Ashcroft?

It might be disquieting to us to read posts from those without the slightest bit of compassion for another human being, but in amongst the ugly there are jewels.

Also, when Hollywood and SNL is out there saying you're ugly every ten seconds, I could understand the accepting a free facelift.

I would hope that too. My problem with this tread is that it has degenerated to a battle in the gutter between various sniping factions arguing over each other's hygiene habits. I feel that type of correspondence probably belongs somewhere else...I like to think Free Republic deserves better.
