Muslims and neo-nazi's protest together against Israel (in Holland)

The Hague - About hundered protesters, radical muslims and a handfull neo-nazi's, started a demonstration against the state of Israel at 14.30 hours (CET). They gathered at the Malieveld in Den Haag (The Hague)

It is an annual protest taking place on the last friday of the islamic ramadan. The protesters start at the Malieveld, proceed to the Binnenhof (where the Dutch governement is located) to the place in front of the Tweede Kamer (the Dutch highest goverement body). The protesters were displaying flags and sheets with Arabic texts and some Dutch texts, like "Israel childkillers". Neo-nazi frontman E. Horman from Groningen walks along the protest with an Arabic flag.

The deceased Iranian ayatollah Khomeiny had instructed some time ago that these annual protests against "the west" should be held in respect to the "Day of the oppressed". In the years before, the protests were mostly peacefuly. Until the beginning of the protest friday there were no incidents reported.

but these "protests" make me ashamed to tell you people I am Dutch...

Dear KnightHawk, thank you for this and other wonderful posts you have made on this board.

There is nothing at all of which you can be ashamed. The Dutch people are forerunners of democracy in Europe. We all know that for centuries they were and still are one of the most civilized people in the world.

One particular expression of the humanity, wisdom, and courage of the Dutch is the protection that the Christian people gave to the Jews at the time of need during the WWII. This is not even the first time that this kindness and humanity was afforded: after Isabella expelled all Jews from Spain, the Dutch were one of the few people to accept the refugees (Turkey was a notable other exception). Scores of other refugees have fallen pray to the pirates and drowned in the high sees of the Mediterranean.

To remember is one of the most sacred obligations of a Jew. I assure you that the Jewish people remember the kindness, civility, and overall humanity of Christians in your land. These stories are passed from generation to generation; this kindness and humanity will not be forgotten.

To me personally, you exemplify the true ideals of Christianity. I feel nothing but respect for the Dutch people.

Perhaps I am too idealistic, but I refuse to view the skinheads as spokesmen for the Dutch people. From your other post I have learned recently about increased crime and tolerance to everything but the traditional values. As you know, here in the States, things are not that much different (especially when you look at California). The whole Western world is ill with multi-culturalism, which has progressed to a complete self-denial. All cultural values but Western are accepted by the current elites. This vacuum is exploited by the skinheads on the one hand and the imported "dissidents" on the other --- none of whom has ever accepted the Western values.

I do not know whether we will survive this onslaught; I am still optimistic that we will. And if anything, it is people like you, here in America and in Europe, who give me hope that we will prevail and go back to what Europe and America are all about.

A handfull of neo-nazi's? Why is this even news? I could walk down the street in any large city and find a handfull of crackpots in less than 15 minutes

You are so right, Northern: all counrties have their crackpots. But the Dutch are very close to the origin of the greatest bloodshed of the XX century. They know that ignoring a hudred crackpots may be very dangerous.

We have not experienced fascism on our own soil, and made a similar mistake: first we had a few hundred of anti-Vietnam, leftist protesters, and now they number in millions. They teach multi-culturalism to our children in schools and universities.

Now we have calls for a destruction of an entire people and an entire religion because they are filthy, evil and have an evil religion. Some even use words like "vermin" to describe these people. What's even worse, is some of these people are Jewish and that makes it even more revolting.

Bin Laden's full of BS. If what you say it true, the Netherlands are becoming increasinly Muslim because of immigration, not because of conversion. I seriously doubt that very many (or even very few) Dutch are converting to Islam.
